Are we openly a Liverpool fan today or have you reverted back to your Newcastle charade? Hard to keep up. PSG for one, their only hole is the lack of a true World Class No. 9. Isak would slot in very nicely with Dembele and Kvaratskhelia. Harry Kane will be 33 next year and Bayern continue to just pile up the cash. He's likely too old for Chelsea, but if Manchester United can get European Football again they'll throw themselves into the mix.

Depends on the circumstances. If the club go full Levy and drag this out to extract every last Yankee cent from Liverpool, with the whole lot paid up front he can probably accept it. Especially if there are some incomings on top of what was already planned. If we roll over for 120 million in instalments in time for Isak to have a full pre season than that is where the questions start.

By the time he got to us the rest of the Premier League were all doing it - and doing it better with more resources whilst he didn't evolve (shocking). Some Excel number crunching and getting a heated swimming pool installed was ahead of the pack in 2001, but laughably quaint when clubs were already starting to assemble entire battalions of PhDs and wiz kids.

Despite being a dinosaur on the pitch, he was very progressive (for the time) off it. Properly embraced analytics before anyone else in England, advocated building modern training facilities and was a heavy user of video to review matches and plan for the next one. Was always odd that him and Wenger clashed like they did considering how they were really the first to really drive that holistic approach to running their teams.

Have seen that sentiment else where. Probably should remind themselves that Nottingham Forest were very lucky to not get relegated two seasons in a row due their scattergun transfer approach post promotion. The season before last they had the lowest points total of any non relegated team ever. They also signed a spine with actual English Football Experience - Gibbs White, Henderson, Wood, Neco Williams.

Might’ve been bollocks, but swear I remember reading that Staveley sold her remaining shares at a price that valued the club at over a billion... and the club is still barely scratching the surface of it's commercial potential.

Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)

You could make the same post in 2021 about Isak after he got peddled off by Dortmund to Sociedad. It's hardly a shock that at 19 he didn't breakthrough into a forward line featuring Mbappe, Messi and Neymar. World Football is full of players went to a "big club" to early before reaching their potential when they are sold off to a more well rounded team that develops them properly and lets them play. -
Ken Bates still kicking about?

Yep. For anyone who follows the NBA, the owners have effectively snuck a hard cap into effect in all but name with the second apron nonsense. The most hilarious/depressing part is they even hoodwinked the players association to ratify it in the last deal. If the Premier League owners put their mind to it, there would be nothing stopping them achieving the same outcome over time.

The Carroll camp were definitely pushing stories to the local press at the time that this was against his will, that Ashley forced him out for the fee etc.

Only started 8 games

Clause expired June 30th last year didn't it? We also have Champions League football vs no Europe this off season.

Zero fucks given because they ultimately imploded after the disallowed goal. Keep your head for another 15 minutes, park the bus and you're in the Champions League if it remains a draw. If they had needed a win or lost 1-0 I would feel more sympathetic but ultimately it didn't matter since they lost 2-0 anyway.

Of course. Bit silly of the Saudi's to be honest to not bribe our way to the title though.

Hot Take: Maybe Rafa knew what he was doing

Nah. Get him for half the price, stick him in the Eddie Howe Rehabilitation Centre for Depressed Assets and watch as he becomes Prime Maldini by November.

Golfmag wasn't it - he was saying for months, turned out he was a friend of Pardews agent.

Looking for more of those pinpoint, weak footed crosses from 40 yards away

I wouldn't even call it 5 on paper - no one who has spent more than 30 minutes watching Hall and Trippier would have them down as defensive fullbacks who treat the halfway line as if it was coated in asbestos.
