  1. PSG defender pushes Ba into the keeper, then appeals.
  2. Modric, Bale, Van de Vaart and Adebayor FFS.
  3. This is one of those refs that you just want to shout at in the face. "When they dive you're supposed to book them!" It's not fucking rocket science.
  4. Obvious point, but how has Lavezzi not been booked? Proper Gattuso performance tonight.
  5. Yet Sherwood who has done the same thing and been getting less points than AVB gets the benefit of the doubt? Sherwood has more points than AVB, and is unlikely to last out the summer.
  6. I think it's pretty clear that things were not hunky dory behind scenes, for some reason. He was certainly making some strange decisions. It's certainly true that ditching him before we'd even got to Christmas was effectively writing off the season.
  7. Just did a quick add-up - in the league I think AVB was W8D3L5, Sherwood is W10D2L5.

    Sunderland

Just do RTG man, it's mint. I went on looking for a match thread, but was disappointed. The Ki thread with the Korean fangirl/boy was ace though.

    Sunderland

Anyone know of a readable Sunderland board (i.e. not RTG)? Just for the schadenfreude.
  10. Still hoping we get Caulker back - rumours are that we might have something agreed.

    Sunderland

Liverpool not being shit has been too much of a trade-off for me.
  12. Can't believe that Eriksen is younger than, for example, Paul Dummett.
  13. AVB was sacked for more than just performances on the pitch - there were clearly bigger issues in the way he handled the squad behind the scenes. Levy makes some ballsy decisions, and some misguided ones, but he clearly didn't have someone proper lined up and if that was the case then there was obviously something else concerning him. In a weird way I admire Sherwood for having the balls to put himself out there. I mean, it's a hard job, and he wasn't ever going to be ready for it, but he's actually done all right considering. I mean, Flip brings up the games this year, but the only teams he's lost to in the Prem have been Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool...and Norwich. He came in at a fairly horrible time, not having worked with the players at all, and did OK. We've now got West Brom, Fulham, Stoke, West Ham, and Villa, and we're capable of winning all five. Also, for all the stick he's had for persisting with players like Bentaleb (and Kane), he's now given a handful of kids some real experience too.
  14. Only against the poor sides, where the players' class tells. Against decent managers he gets completely out-thought. It happened against, for example, Palace and Southampton, where they both could have had the games won by halftime but we clawed our way back. Do you not think he approaches the games in quite a positive way, though? He's obviously tactically naïve but at least he not stifling the players with pragmatism. I've really enjoyed watching Spurs since he took over. I think there's something in that, although against better sides it's compromised because you need more. There are echoes of Redknapp, although minus a lot of experience and savvy. I think he approaches games in a positive way because he doesn't have the knowledge to be tactical/defensive, and he expects his players to do a lot of the thinking for him. That suits people like Adebayor, who end up essentially doing whatever they want on the pitch, and Eriksen, who has football intelligence in spades. It doesn't suit most of the team though - people like Rose, Walker, Naughton, Lennon who are adequate in many ways but really need to be told what to do and when to do it.
  15. They fight, to be fair to them. We don't even have that. They'd never be in trouble if they played 38 the way they play 2. You'll hate me for saying it, but they'd never be in trouble if they got to play you every week. This is more of that Go Tribe s***. This is the ugly side of leffe that usually doesn't exist in this section. I'm glad more people can see it. Go Tribe is ultimately ironic. I'm a cuddly bunny.

  18. I mean, I'm just happy to win, but you guys must have fucking loved this .
  19. Sunderland have been terrible. I mean, I think a fair bit of that is down to us, but we literally gave them a goal. Fucking great, Veljkovic, love this kid.
  20. All of their games are against teams who really need the points too. Apart from potentially the last two - and if West Brom and Swansea don't need the points by then then the chances are that Sunderland will be down already.
