Well, that's a great bench. Problem is, half of it should be on the pitch. -
Nice to see the traditional mop and pool cue on there though. If only they just called themselves Samoa.

Fawk, that looks pretty damn good. But then, so does ours. The midfield battle is going to be intense. For everyone talking about a loss ruining your weekend: A win will f*** mine up too (mind you, I'm happy to be f***ed up this way) because I'll probly end up staying up all night 'til kickoff, then if we win there's no way I'll be going to sleep at 7am after FT. So I'll be running around getting drunk til noon at least and then my sleep schedule will have been set to 1-9pm or so... Oh well. Howay the french!! I believe that if we have the above line-up, and Perch starts instead of Tiote, we might have more fluent French speakers than you . Lloris, Vertonghen, Gallas, BAE, Dembele, Ade - against Debuchy, Cabaye, Gouffran, Cisse, Sissoko. Of course, the teams might be different, but it says a lot about the changes (and deficiencies) in the English game. -

Somehow I doubt the same applies to most Spurs fans. It's Shabbat, too. -
Cyprus' is pretty terrible. What on earth has happened to Poland and Switzerland?

knew would be, was clinging o hope he wouldn't tho We'll see. He's back, but who knows (a) how fit/ready to play he is (b) if AVB will give him a kick up the arse and not start him. I'll not be convinced until I see him out on that pitch. How likely is that though given your options.. Yeah, unlikely. Obviously we don't know the full story (Gervinho also only got back today, apparently), but Ade has lost some credit with the fans over this. We'll see. -

With Ade, hopefully: Lloris Walker Vertonghen Gallas BAE Parker Dembele Lennon Holtby Bale Ade There's some question over whether Holtby will start, but I think AVB would be nuts not to do so. Other issues are Walker (he's been distinctly unreliable) and the centre of defence (loads of options). BAE is coming back from long-term injury, but I expect him to start. We might well see Dawson start instead of Gallas. Without Ade, you can expect to see Dempsey start, either upfront or switched with Bale. -
It's old, but I love the line: “There’s nothing that symbolizes the decline of a team like watching a man who was once deemed great unable to get out of his own jacket.”

I quite like the Saturday lunchtime ones. Get up and have a bacon sandwich, enjoy some football then still have most of your weekend left. Great if you get a positive result. Absolutely this. The game's on at 7.45am here, and so if we lose that's my entire weekend ruined. I can't even enjoy breakfast. Speaking of sleep and food - how's the bairn? -

They're def out, Sandro for the season, don't expect to see the others for three weeks at least. At this rate, I don't expect to see Ade for three weeks either. Other than that, we're pretty good to go. It's the smallest injury list I think I've ever seen us have, but it is our best CB, our best DM and our leading scorer. If Ade's back I fancy us tomorrow (though we're always terrible on these early kickoffs IIRC), but if he's not, then we'll struggle. -

Hope he starts. Mind you, if we don't have any centre-forwards it won't make much difference. -
Just FYI, this is the fourth 1-1 draw Lawro has predicted for us in the last five games. The only one he didn't predict 1-1 for was Norwich - he said they'd beat us 1-0. The result? 1-1. We are ahead of QPR in his table on goal difference.
-
They have learned. You think they do this because it's true, or because it is in some way beneficial to the game? They couldn't give a fuck. They want more people to read it, or listen to it, or watch it, or talk about it - and of course, we are.
-
I'm guessing that they've ended up at this ludicrous fudge because they had to get the comedy clubs on board. What a waste of time and effort.

If you're coming from Camden, you could actually just bus it. 29 to Finsbury Park, then the 259. You could have a drink in the Finsbury Park Tavern, and might get a drink bought for you by Arsenal fans. Have you got a Newcastle accent? -
the Rooney bandwagons proven to be a dud re one of worlds best players and they seem desperate for someone playing in the prem to be one of the best in the world I think it's as simple as this, coupled with the fact that he's British. It's cringeworthy, but if it adds a zero to his price when we eventually sell him then I guess I'll have to live with it. His style (on the pitch, anyway) is more attention-grabbing than Wilshere, who is probably the only other young British player with the potential for the same level of hype. Maybe Walcott, but he has never seemed to get the credit I think he deserves. We had a discussion about Bale and Waddle on the boards the other day, and I still think rate Waddle higher, although if Bale keeps improving then who knows? Frankly, it's just someone else for the media to build up, then knock down. Or maybe build up, then try to get sold to a club more "deserving" of his talents. Total waste of time reading it/listening tbh. It's reached a bit of a head over the last couple of weeks just because he has scored some cracking goals.

Mostly home fans round the ground. Last year me and my mate said we weren't going to the match and got let in. There was some Irish centre near WHL station that had our fans in, might go back The Irish Centre used to be the one, but I haven't been with away fans for some time - we're talking years now. A couple of pubs I used to recommend have apparently gone now. This site gives a few: http://www.footballgroundguide.com/tottenham_hotspur/ If you're coming down to London by train I'd say your best bet is to grab a drink in town - there are loads of great pubs around Kings Cross. You can then get the Victoria Line up. Alternatively, if you're getting the overground up from Liverpool St, drink there. If you're driving down, parking is a bugger. There's lots of complicated things you can do, but check the train times. You might be able to park somewhere in Enfield and get the train down from Enfield Town to WHL (Don't go to Enfield Chase station - wrong line) - but the pubs in Enfield were never that great. It does mean that you're getting the train back out of London, which used to mean less of a wait. I had a quick look at the controlled parking zone for matchdays and it doesn't seem to extend that far. I was planning on driving up from Camden! I went to Spurs v Newcastle with some Newcastle fan mates a couple of times - and on one occasion we had an absolute blinder of a night in Camden afterwards. Was when I was living in Scotland - and we all came down from Scotland wearing kilts (Oh, the banter). There are plenty of places to park if you don't mind a bit of a walk. I'd suggest somewhere just off the Great Cambridge maybe - plenty of escape routes, though the traffic will still be pretty horrible. -

Uh huh. I can play that game too: "Slot Tiote to kick the living s*** of Dembele and Dempsey, and I'm sure Saylor and Debuchy will be able to shake off one Gareth Bale." "Also when Hatem Ben arfas back along with Tiote and Raylor. Yes were as good as Tottenham. Be finishing above you next season" "i'd take Cisse over Adebayor on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday." "You may aswell get yourself a TOON shirt to wear for the game. because we are going to Spank you." All taken out of context - the thread was pretty fair. Here's some Spurs stuff from my forum: "this is going to be a really tough match for us." "I think this game can be a cracker." "I am worried about this game. I really hope we can get three points to keep us in contention! Could this be the game that makes or breaks our season?" "A three of Tiote, Cabaye and Sissoko is strong though. We'll need to be on it." "With Newcastle's strength in midfield, Holtby absolutely has to play centrally behind the striker as he is not afraid to track back and hassle - 3rd central midfielder and linking the play." "God I hope we wipe the smugness off of Pardew's face though, can't stand him. He's gotten a bit lucky, the going got tough and he was bailed out by 4 new signing." "Since Cabaye came back they have made such huge improvements. Not to mention they basically changed half their squad, and Yanga-Mbiwu hasn't even started, who I feel is their 2nd best CB behind Coloccini. They could realistically line up as such: ----------------------------- Krul ------------------------------ Debuchy ------ Yanga-Mbiwa --- Coloccini ----- Santon --------------- Cabaye ---------- Tiote --------------------- Jonas ----------------- Sissoko ------------------ Gouffran ------------------------- Cisse ---------------------------------- That's an incredibly balanced squad. One that is athletic from front to back, has goals from their defense and obviously in attack. Strong in midfield with a trio that have very complimentary skillsets (Cabaye - elite passer/engine, Tiote - ball winner/tenacious defender, Sissoko - playmaker). This one is going to be tough. Very tough." Oh, the arrogant b******s. I still hate your fans leffe. Ever since I saw a load of them going to a cup final in suits jumping into a limo. That sounds fucking great, tbh. If it was a Wembley Cup Final, then that would be my ideal way to travel. I used to live in North London and hated travelling there, if I could sit in the traffic jam getting plastered it would be magic. -

I think that it will be interesting to see how the relationship changes if you're where you should be next year with this squad. I've said it before, but for my entire football-supporting life up until the Premier League started you were essentially irrelevant. Now bear with me here. For the first four or five years of the Prem, we were irrelevant, then for another four or five years, we both were. You had three good years, then ever since 2004-5 we've finished above you, usually comfortably so. Last season was the first season in my footballing life (that I can remember) that we were both good. Next season should be the next. That will be a real test of a relationship . -

Spurs fans used to get a real tough time on here at the time he and Martin Lol joined. Leffe slipped the radar some how. The thing that winds me up the most is Martin Lol's sense of self importance about his posts. Like we're all dying to hear the latest made up update about Spurs. It's like any forum on t'internet - you just need to be mature and keep your wits about you. Only post stuff in Football that might interest Newcastle/football fans, and make sure that if you're defending your team (which you always end up having to do - and it's your duty of course), you do so with a sense of humour and awareness of where you are. Kingdawson was a good guy, but let himself get wound up way too much. Every once in a while he'd step over the line a bit. Martin Lol seems like a good guy too, but doesn't always get it . Christ that sounds patronising. You know what I mean. I actually signed up years before my start date, and slipped under the radar by just not being too full-on. -

That's one of my core competencies on here. Got to say most Spurs fans I know are good lads. Never understood the animosity on here. Oh I understand it - some of us are t***s. I've blocked people on here and on Spurs sites . More importantly, we're rivals now, and we've been better than you for a few years. That's the way things work. You see a lot of arrogant Arsenal and Man U fans for a reason. If you'd been better than us for the last few years, there would be less arrogance on our sites and more on yours. Essentially, t***s are t***s. Nothing you or I can do will change that much, but we can educate and dilute . -
