Obert still on then

Shola hasn't been that poor. I dont say much against Shola. But that offside miss was the most amateurish positioning ive seen in a long time, he could see right across the defence & had ages.
-
Htf has he stayed offside there
-
wth is Raylor doin there

Nah ones the official line & ones the reporters opinion on whats actually more likely. Dont really see the benefit in them holding on just to sell him though, unless they dont want to use the money Ashley style.
-
I just like lovenkrands average position being the corner flag. Ba must be hiding somewhere under Shola/Cabaye.

Sounds similar to the Ben Arfa situation http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/breves2011/20110814_194410_maiga-bientot-sanctionne.html

Gyan picked up a knock for them today. So may be out.

Think this was decent result for our laughable preseason, no suprise that there wasnt much flow going fowards. They havent played together, its not a small issue that can be overlooked. Highlights our need for another striker again. Im pretty content atm.

Theyve proper cocked this up this year

Feels like hes a bit above us & given the clear interest in a more likely transfer for pieters, seems a game of some kind. Obv wont get both. See what happens

Can people please stop referring to this idea like it's one that's sweeping the forum. As far as I know it's the view of 1 Scandanavian fruitloop and that's it. You're taking it the way you choose to, the line you highlighted doesnt suggest its a mass view anywhere.

Ive accepted at this point that we will lose our best players and hope for top 10 whilst Ashley takes back his loan gradually & decides what to do from there. Our club will be in a much better position financially at that point if he manages that, its true. Its a risky tactic though which relies a lot on our scouting system & ability to find bargains. Then its down to whether he sells it or he decides he wants a fresh start and to invest in potential success. I imagine he will sell.

Dont agree with resting your best strikers against any team. There probably will be injuries & i think the likes of Ameobi/Loven are better than most other teams 3rd/4th choice strikers. If we get in another striker though, itd make sense to let one of them go and we just gave Ameobi a new deal.
-
Apparently latest Arsenal injury update is only Wilshere is out, Gibbs late fitness test. Rest all fit.

People holding a grudge purely because hes left as usual. Good luck to him, served us brilliantly whilst here.

Its cheaper to get players with the potential to step up than get ones that already have. Its as simple as that really. It doesnt mean this isnt a good signing, he might well step up. Its just riskier. Personally i think out of Jonas, (hopefully Barton), Marv & now Obertan we've a decent chance of having two good wings on the go in some manner plus backups. I also think someone with Cabaye's vision could bring out the best in the pacier players.

That's the problem with football..Finding the right players is difficult, and there need not be a correlation between what you pay and what you get. The revenue might increase, but it's not sure that the profit will be better since bringing in expensive players results in increased expenses. Theres no guarantee no. In the same way theres no guarantee that getting cheaper alternatives wont result in your normal revenue decreasing following worse results since you are taking more of a risk. Results in the same situation except you have worse players & are closer to relegation. Then there are further implications, if your team is more successful you increase the chance of finding these bargains. As better players will be more likely to want to join without silly contracts & your current players are more likely to stay on similar terms. I think we missed out on Nzog this season, could have been big for us.

If you invest in the right players, the normal revenue increases.

Obertan and false hope

Going against the majority here, but i think many go over the top about the poor quality of our fowards. I think we definately need another striker also, but if you actually look at their end product last season it wasnt that bad. Ameobi got 6 goals and 6 assists in 1753 mins playing time Loven 6+6/1451 Compared to some other key strikers in the league for their teams: Anelka = 6+6/2357 Crouch = 4+7/1945 Saha = 7+1/1366 Rodallega = 9+2/3025 Kdavies = 8+5/3384 Suarez = 4+5/1100 Reasonable to expect theyd have matched those that played much more and those that played less were on target for around the same also. Best & Ba were doing much better than all of them. Just something to consider, they cant be that woeful.
