I dont think it will be as easy as people expect. They need wins now & our side need consistency, we rarely do things easily. Their passing is much better since Garde came in, cant judge much v Arsenal. Drew against southampton & scored 2 v watford week before. They will test us on set pieces i reckon.

Nice one. What a superb result.

Seems like thats the issue, Gomis complete loss of form/confidence and no one to replace it. No team can go 11 games without a striker scoring. Give him a decent option upfront & im sure they'd kick on again.

His season with them is very similar to his first full one with us really. He's made them defensively tighter, they dont concede more than one in a game. So if they score they either draw or win. The only game in the league they've conceded more than once this season with 11 men was losing 2-1 to Arsenal one of which was still an own goal. Thats very impressive like. Just as it was impressive when a defence of Ryan Taylor, Saylor, Simpson etc had the best defensive record in England for quite a period the season we finished 5th. Again it was similar, our first 11 games that season we conceded more than 1 only once. While Ba would score the other side. Same situation though, for us he relied on Ba then Cisse. For them he's relying on Bolasie/Zaha & defenders goals. The systems working for him atm, ive not seen much to suggest he'll adapt when he has to change it though. If Bolasie/Zaha are out they'll struggle to score.

Monk Gone?

Was that some actual leadership on the pitch? I did enjoy the two shots he had where he seemed baffled that he had a chance to shoot and kinda flopped over. Played well though.

Good on the break away as he always is. Apart from that he put in the cross for Gini & did little else. Does my head in how unfussed he seems half the time.

Anita was superb for me, they had no room in the middle for most of the game. De jong aswell was organising everyones positions while he was on. Perez made the run to give Gini space, but he actually closed players down far less than De jong did which i find odd.

Been involved in 9 of our last 13 goals either scoring or assisting. Good but we need others to contribute.

Kane is superb on the ball. Rooneys run was decent there.

Looks like its a bigger incident that just being outside the stadium: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/france/11995227/Paris-shooting-Many-feared-dead-live.html

Lovely finish, Sterling cocked that right up

Nolito been their best player by far so far

Yeah we improved but not even forced a decent save. Jayson, not sure what you're watching there was about 3 times when spain really should have got it on target at least, most glaringly with Costa having plenty of time to curl a shot in but rushing it and going over. Defence has been largely solid, the cb's are playing well. Trying to curl one from wide in the area into the top corner isnt a clear opportunity just because top class players manage it.
-
They've hardly made it past our fullbacks man. Couple half chances thats it.
-
Look in awe of Spain a bit, players nervy on the ball as they're facing a competent team who are being intelligent when not in possession. Defence looks decent & Kane keeps the ball well when it goes near him.

Is the bigger issue in all this, not the fact that he already wasnt happy at a club fighting for Europe. He wanted to play champions league a year ago, why is him coming here being discussed.
-
Didnt he start releasing dodgy statements about being ready to leave & play in the champions league. Probably not helped him, not ideal to have first teamers that are stating they're ready to leave the club.
-
Apparently they went toe to toe with liverpool today for 80 minutes, but backed off for 20 according to pards.

Give us confidence? We are improving as a side, we've played awfully today but its one game. We've been unlucky not to win the last few since Norwich. I'm not convinced I'd get a grand deal of confidence out of that one, unless I was Elliot. Either way, I can't say I've considered us as being all that unlucky. We're just not that good. I don't see us as improving, I just see us as mediocre and inconsistent. We have a handful of decent players, an uninspiring manager, and an owner who wont back the team. What I took from this game: absolutely f*** all. It's all a waste of time. Well going down to 10 against Sunderland was unlucky & we've hit the post last week along with Butland growing 10 arms. Id say our attacking play has been far better than Pardew's was till today & defensively we've not really improved. Which is odd considering our 2 CS in the last couple games & few goals. But Mitro/Perez/Sissoko/Gini have looked strong till today for me.

Was good at relieving pressure. Theres 3 minutes of injury time to go though, why is Steve not shouting at them to just keep the ball. Play it back to the defence, just pass it about a bit man. Hes off down the wing crossing it in for Cisse.

Had a superb game really
