  1. Infact Barca's youth system has been the cause of their financial problems in some ways. Because half of their team over recent years has basically been produced 'for free' they've had a lot of spare cash floating round to blow on marquee names or stupid signings.
  2. bs To be fair, Barca's financial problems have come from sheer stupidity in the transfer market. By ideology I mean the core of their team and manager are homegrown, whereas it is quite the opposite for Madrid. I am not talking about finances here.
  3. Actually, didn't Holden get quite brutally attacked last time he visited Newcastle?
  4. Strange. It is, isn't it? Especially Stu Holden, he plays for Bolton. Why the need to go see NUFC - Chelsea? Unless of course it was Bobby that wanted to go and he went with him, which sounds logical. But still! Various Media articles tomorrow: 'Bolton's Holden on Newcastle radar'
  5. Messi and Guardiola cost: € 0 Ronaldo and Mourinho cost: € 110 million Nice summary of the ideology behind both clubs.
  6. Aye, pretty much what I said to me dad. Finally getting praise he deserves but it comes after one of his more average performances.
  7. They played Dutch style 4-3-3 and were a quality side relative to that division. There was less need for a player of his ilk in the team and instead they played with 3 ball playing midfielders.
  8. Don't think anybody has a clue what we paid for Jonas. It was never confirmed and I've seen prices ranging fron £2 million to £7 million quoted.
  9. Yeah, small fee due to him being out of contract at the end of the season.
  10. Enrique got MOTM on Sky too. Hairyhands and Poyet were giving him big praise in the studio too, saying he is forging a reputation as one of the best fullbacks in the league.
  11. can't bear to look at that hideous forum It makes you appreciate what good work our Lord and Saviour does keeping this forum to such a high standard.
  12. I honestly think he schemed it all up to be successful and then make sure his successor is left with absolutely nothing to make him look even better Somehow he's managed to curse the players since he left aswell. Barely a single injury last season, yet this season the entire spine of the team has been crocked for large periods.
  13. Why? because he left? To an extent yes. It's Mourinho's way, win it all and then leave the club as a rotting carcus. He left an aging squad after completing their last hurrah, without a decent manager available to replace him and then proceeded to tap up the likes of Maicon and Sneijder. There is nothing really coming through to replace the older generation, only Coutinho and Santon have any hope of being long term stars - a complete rebuilding job is in order over the next 3-4 years. Can't help appreciate what he has done, but I think his 'love' for Chelsea and Inter is a bit fake. He's fueled by personal glory more than anything else.
  14. http://www.sbfcbanter.co.uk/sbfc.mpl?action=setprefs&pref=indextype&value=summary An unbelievably ugly forum, but theres some delicious anger on there. When clicking a topic make sure to then click "view all".
  15. He really doesn't pull his weight at all. Carroll did all the running up top on his own, Shola just lumbers around not chasing or doing anything. Then when he did get the ball his touch was fucking dire.

I don't know what you're expecting from Best, to be honest. Shocking player, no better than Lovenkrands.
  17. aye righto Their first goal, was as route one as they come.
  18. oldtype, what are your thoughts on Heung-Min Son?
  19. Barton left, that would be hard to watch. He makes a shift of it wide right because it's his natural crossing side.
