Ignacio María González signed from Valencia on year-long loan deal

Will go down as a Toon great. -
This is funny actually. Wore my 95/96 shirt out and about yesterday and 3 times I was yelled at "Get that shit off" or "What you wearing that for man" etc. Couldn't tell whether they were serious or joking, either way they should fuck off. I'll wear the shirt, and I'll wear it proudly for fucks sake, what do they expect me to suddenly become ashamed of my team and of my area just because we were relegated, fuck off man. I agree with the original post, wear our colours and wear them with pride. Newcastle are our club no matter how shit we are or what division we are in!

Naturally a CB isn't he?
-
Diego> Modric. Apparently Crespo and Quaresma on their way to Genoa as part of the Milito/Motta deal
-
I feel for him. I wouldn't get out of bed for that tbh. If he's really on that then he's already on more than a lot of players in the championship. Obviously, but that money would make him one of the lowest earners at the club, just seems strange that he'd be so desperate to leave.
-
Apparently he's only on about 10k a week.

Get the fuck in! best news in ages. Captain next season without a doubt
-
Go to the odd Hartlepool game because most of my family is from there, closest thing to a second team I have.
-
Really didn't expect that from Peter, but there is no direct quotes from himself so it could be just agent shite.
-
Nice that he wants to stay, but he needs to take a hell of a wage cut to make it worth keeping him.

Aston Villa v Newcastle - 24/05/09 - Pre-match thread
ponsaelius replied to Godot's topic in Football
I just got a very, funny nervous feeling when I realised it's now Sunday. Just the thought of it, by 6pm tonight we could know for sure that we will be playing Championship football next season. Shit, I've know for ages we could go down, but just thinking about it like that now is a horrible realisation. -
I doubt you'd be thrown out for celebrating in the director's box. Would I not? Good. Just I have been implored not to. Anyway there's a chance I could be back in the away end again.
-
I think I'm now watching it from the worst possible place. My underhand ticket for this game has 'fell through', but I've been blagged a ticket in... The Aston Villa directors box. That's right, the ASTON VILLA directors box. Oh my goodness, I now have to wear formal clothes and the the slightest bit of emotion will have me thrown out. Seriously, I don't think I'm not gonna be able to celebrate if we score, but some how, I'm going to have to restrain myself. I can't really say no to this ticket now, my friends Dad has used every connection possible to get this and I'd be an absolute c*** to turn it down.

Maicon keeps Alves out of the Brazil squad, he's better than any RB in this country.
-
Them quotes look suspiciously like the Bassong quotes.
-
Got ticket today, there's one decision made for me.
-
RIP. Love that song.

I remember Motta being pap at Barca and Atletico, haven't seen him in Serie A at all though. Surely, there is far better targets Inter could be going for? Milito is a proven goalscorer and will be good for Inter, however he will be 30 by the start of next season, letting a young talent like Acquafresca go and replacing him with an aging player just doesn't seem logical, even if he is good.
-
Are they any good? Heard about Delph before i think, haven't we been linked with him before? having being to Elland Road a few times this season I think their best prospect is Beechio. Delph is good and we should go for him certainly. As for Beckford, if we're in the championship - yes. although he's a 24 karat c***. In the premiership he absolutely will not cut it, poor natural footballing ability Becchio is a decent player, but he's 25 and has spent most of his career in the Spanish lower divisions, I doubt he'd be good enough for the Premiership and probably wont get much better. Delph is a huge prospect though, only 19 and looks far too good for League One, future England player. I agree with you about Beckford. So, if we're Premier League next year sign Delph. Championship, we could do alot worse than signing either one of their strikers.

My 'away record' is also shocking. All the away games ive been to: 3 defeats at Wigan 3 defeats at Bolton 1 defeat at Liverpool 1 defeat at Man Utd 1 defeat at Derby 1 defeat at Sunderland (plus one win in the Dabizas game, but I was in home end) 1 defeat at Celtic (friendly) 1 draw at Leeds (home end) 1 draw at Blackburn 1 draw at Carlisle (friendly, but I thought the horrific record would end that day) 1 defeat FA Cup Semi at Cardiff 1 extra time win at Coventry!!!! The highlight. Probably a good job I cant afford to go. Liverpool 2-0 Newcastle (Xabi Alonso halfway line) Middlesbrough 1-0 Newcastle Wigan 1-0 Newcastle Man U 6-0 Newcastle Liverpool 3-0 Newcastle Blackburn 3-0 Newcastle Bolton 1-0 Newcastle 17 Against. 0 For.
