  1. Having watched some of all of them, and a lot in some cases, I would rather Elanga than all of those players.
  2. Saying he's a regular substitute for Forest is just straight up lying.
  3. People were hoping for us to get some namby playmaking little twink from the continent nobody has ever of, no ta says Eddie, I'll have the speed merchant from Forest. I'm here for it. Let's get our trophy winning legend whatever players he wants.
  4. Think MGW was rumoured to be offski, but City have gone elsewhere now, so perhaps yes.
  5. Hope we aren't signing an excellent player who has tore us apart on numerous occasions? Not sure he'd by my first choice but I certainly wouldn't be upset over that signing.
  6. Obviously the right decision. Tbh it's basically right for both parties. End on a high.
  7. Suppose Ruddy getting a new deal might be dependant on if we bring in a home grown keeper instead. Could even be we're looking at potentially offering him a coaching role instead.
  8. Atalanta are a well run club so I'm sure they've looked at it as much from the tactical fit as much as the profile of manager. Juric is a bit of a Gasperini acolyte in how he sets up his teams, which I guess has played into it. Also worth remembering Gasperini had bombed at Inter and Palermo before he got that job. He did an amazing job no doubt, but the club also did amazing things for his own profile. I can't help but feel this is an awful time for them to part ways though. They had a good chance last year, but that increases even more so this year with Inter's situation and Napoli going into second season Conte with two games a week. I can only think it comes down to Atalanta not guaranteeing keeping the team together which has forced his hand - but it feels a missed opportunity for them both not to have given it one more season. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Gasp bombs badly at Roma tbh.
  9. Ruddy potentially staying suggests we're not bothering with a home grown option.
  10. The host nation at the Club World Cup has traditionally been represented by the winner of the local league. They were the winner of the league format and the best team over the regular season, so it's not totally unreasonable selection. The rest of the teams have qualified based on pre-determined metrics for the continental winners over the last four years and the best ranked European clubs over a set period. I'm sure they'd have loved to find a way to not have RB Salzburg in it otherwise. I'm not sure why I'm defending this rubbish, it's a farce and I won't be watching a minute of it, but qualification has not been invite only.

    Fraser Forster

    What a menace.
  12. It's not invite only TBF.
  13. Decent player TBF - very much a CF though rather than somebody more flexible.
  14. 5th June and everybody has already lost the plot ffs
  15. Came in lower than Bruno I think. Either way I think Mbeumo's supposed demands would go above it, and potentially above what we'd want to offer Isak on a new deal.
  16. I don't think the club will hand out a contract to a new signing which exceeds or even matches our current highest paid player. Not for a long time anyway. I think most signings will come in under it with the intention that they then earn the pay rise to be our highest paid. I think the total package in fee and wages for Mbeumo is clearly out of our current structure.
  17. Unhinged levels of autism/unemployed behaviour, I'm here for it
  18. I've got a weird feeling that we've got a window that we'd like to to do, but it involves a significant sale, and we're open to letting a player go to facilitate it. I'd personally be gutted if Miley went. As I was with Anderson. I hate how you're supposed to just sell your homegrown academy players now.
  19. It's not worked for him at Juve, he's not quite our physical profile, and his dad was a dick way back when - but if he ends up back on the market I'd be tempted to take a punt on Conceicao.
  20. If you name a home grown third choice keeper as one of your 4 HG players it means you don't have to name a third choice keeper in your non-HG 21 places, so it frees up a space for an actual outfield player you might otherwise need to leave out. It's a marginal benefit, but it does allow you to have a bigger CL squad. This has additional benefit for us because we have so few genuine youth options on the B list.
  21. No he shouldn't have re-taken it. That's the point I'm making. He should have just got given the goal. I don't see why slipping and double hitting should allow be re-taken, but slipping and hitting it once wouldn't be. As long as it's one obvious motion the outcome should just be whatever happens from the penalty itself.
  22. I don't really agree. Players can accidentally slip and skew it wide etc. I don't know why you'd give them a second bite of the cherry if they slip but are lucky enough to hit it twice by mistake in the process. That's just bailing out a fuck up. It should just be that an element of common sense is applied that the penalty is legit if it is taken in all one obvious movement, whether they score or not, and not afford them another go just because they slipped in very specific context of a double hit.
