Barry played CB? I remember him as a LB at Villa.

Wouldn't surprise me if it turned out Juve were cheating again. Just can't fucking help themselves that mob.

Absolutely this. Looks good there in the Prem sometimes because he's a good athlete.

They must have offered him more than the other two. I assume Chelsea have just decided that FFP won't work? Looks like they're going to be spending a ludicrous amount this summer, odious entity.

"I'd like, why not go abroad" next season: the right side of Lille and the team of France Mathieu Debuchy, invited to the press after the Blues' victory against Iceland (3-2), confessed his desires elsewhere, even marking his preference for the English Premiership. "Other (Championships) I like too much, but I like the English style. But I do not know any more, I have not discussed this with my club. For now, I'm preparing for the Euro and I let my agent handle all that. If I stay at Lille, I'll be happy too. "

Reo-Coker to Sevilla apparently.

Why do you think all of those players fucked off? Because they are very good. Hence the league produces very good players. Ergo Hazard is probably very good.
-
The French league has produced a plethora of stars, and Hazard is widely regarded to be one of the best ever to come from the league. I think he'll be decent.

Lazio getting kicked out would be good for our seeding.

I think Chelsea had a feeling Cech was on the wain, but he's just had arguably the best 6 months of his career.

Don't apologise to the thoughtless prick. He just shamelessly plagiarised your hard work. -
Courtois. Everybody forgets Courtois.

Just seen that Valeron has played 39(!) games for them this season. What a legend.

I think ultimately it comes down to the player so evidently these players have agreed with their club/manager's decision. I'm disappointed because I was at least hoping this would be equivalent to the U-21 competitions, but now we won't even get that probably. Very much a hotch-potch mix for some of the sides.

Does England produce many "advanced midfielders", though? Outside of bringing Johnson or Cole into the squad, I don't know what other attacking options you are talking about. That's what I mean. I said we don't produce them. We play in straight lines and as such the players we produce fall into that. I still think England's personnel is most suited to a fairly defensive 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 like we played for large periods of last season. Another problem outside of the attacking players is that England don't produce true holding midfielders in the mold of the African destroyer or the southern European deep lying playmakers. Before his misfortune, I often suggested Muamba as a player for England. In this era, in which midfielders are separated into clearly attacking or defensive roles, you don't have many players. Cleverly and Wilshere may help fulfill the roles further forward, but it is worrying that both of them have been injured on such a consistent basis throughout their careers. I don't know if it's just part of his footballing education but Wenger seemed intent on Wilshere playing a deep role for Arsenal, and he was fantastic there last season. Truth is we could do with him becoming useful there but we could also do with him being the advanced midfielder it looked like he was going to be through youth ranks - and there's only one of him. I am gutted at his injury problems over the last year. One of my favourite players to watch in the league and was one of the few exciting players that you could throw into the national team.

Quite a few players being restricted from competing in this by their clubs. For the teams competing at SJP; Fergie is not allowing Hernandez to play for Mexico. The Swiss team who would have been quite interesting will now be without Xhaka, Shaqiri because their new clubs want them in pre-season training plus a few others with Basel in QL qualifying. I think Spain and Brazil will be fairly unaffected though.

Oldtype seething. Somewhere. Even if he's not reading the site, a cold shiver just went down his spine.
