What about his failure to notice Coloccini being our worst defender last year.
-
Maybe that's why everyone feels the need to call someone a mong/cretin etc. after every point they make on here.

Sounds a bit like a kneejerk to me.....

I haven't been away yet this season but the atmosphere at the Plymouth game was terrible, worse than I can remember in a while (for a league game anyway).
-
Its a sad indictment of the quality of the rest of our strikers that Ameobi is our second highest top scorer and a midfielder is top. I agree. Doesn't we'll suddenly start winning when his name is on the teamsheet though, the problems are deeper than that.
-
Things won't change just because Shola is back. If he is better than our other strikers its only marginally. It's not like we've been creating chance after chance only to have our strikers mess up and Shola won't be able to fashion chances out of nothing.

Nicky Butt: no bids.

http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2009/10/22/newcastle-united-eyeing-joakim-rudolfsen-72703-24988395/ Some Norweigan 3rd division player ( ) apparently going to sign. Kaizero is a Mo fan isn't he? Or one of the Scandanavians.

"Doctors told me that I will probably be back on the field in two months time. But thank the Lord nothing is wrong with my knee." Can I get a hallelujah? /black pastor voice

As you wish, our strikeforce (without Ameobi) is a perfect example. Carroll, Ranger, Lovenkrands, Harewood = championship. Solid, normal, run of the mill championship. Nowt else. Compared with (our closest rivals): Bednar, Moore, Beattie, Wood - WBA Chopra, Bothroyd, Etuhu, Feeney - Cardiff Alves, Emnes, Lita, (is Aliadiere still there?) - Boro I won't deny that our bunch are Championship players but there's only Chopra out of that lot i'd rather have. I said a squad that should be better than the rest in the league, not a Premiership squad. Lita is better than all of our fit forwards tbh. Even 20 goal a season Harewood?

It doesn't work like that though, and you know it. You can't predict what is going to happen in a season, of course we'd have taken it back then, but since then we've seen the quality of some of the opposition put infront of us and we should have done better than we have. I couldn't give a f*** where we are now, I'll only be happy if we're still here come May. Shut up man. What doesn't work like that? Sorry for those who cant remember more than over 8 weeks ago, perhaps it doesnt work like that for you. It does for me. Now the opposition are s*** are they, no credit to QPR, to Forest, to Scunthorpe? You are basically saying that we are too good for this league but the players are under-performing. That to me is retarded and exactly the attitude that Mowen is talking about. No club would ever improve with that sort of attitude. Opinions change with the times, everyone would kill for a 5th place PL finish now but under Robson it was still a disappointment. We've shown that we can be the best team in this league so when we go out and play **** of course its annoying. It's all well and good saying well at least we're 2nd or we'd have taken this at the start of the season, but in two weeks time we could be as low as 10th, what shall we say then? Some predicted we'd get relegated so its not all bad? The problem is obviously Hughton. It's mental to say that a squad containing Carroll (U21 int.), Ranger (U19 int.), Jonas (Arg int.), Enrique (U21 int.) etc. isn't good enough to win the league, and that's just the players we've got fit, there's still Taylor, Colo, Barton and Shola to come back. The reason teams are beating us is because they've got gameplans, organisation and good teamwork which all stem from having a good manager who's had time to implement his ideas. Not to mention lots of heart, which we seem to lack, although this isn't surprising considering Hughton seems to have the motivational abilities of a sickly dog.
-
To be fair when most people are saying Scunthorpe shouldn't be beating us they mean Scunthorpe shouldn't be outplaying us. It's obvious we don't have a divine right to win but a team of current and ex internationals should be able to beat an average Championship side.

where is this? What was he saying? http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,65151.msg2032492.html#msg2032492

Fixed. Ashley = NUFC and NUFC = Ashley. Granted it means less money for the club to spend but what exactly was Ashley going to spend this extra £1.5m on? Its £1.5m somebody else needs to find when they buy the club as the overdraft will take the hit. It's more than likely going to be less than 1/80th of the price of the club, hardly the worst thing to happen to the club in the last few weeks.
-
Fixed. Yeeeey, more money wasted.. woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. 'Wasted' implies it would've been spent on something else. Were you expecting any transfers in January?

Ashley is still in the top 15 richest owners in English football and yet we aren't even on of the top 20 clubs. I don't know anything about Moat's finances or personality but you'd be hard pressed to find a worse owner than Ashley. Under Ashley we aren't spending a penny, even Moat spending next to nothing would be a bloody improvement.
-
Funny that Ashley is still trying to slag off Shearer and Keegan (at the Scunthorpe game apparently) and more decisions are going against him. If he wanted the fans to know what Keegan was 'really like' he should've revealed all in the tribunal. Or was he just talking ****....
-
I agree. Hughton and the squad complain he can't rotate but he hasn't even tried. We don't need to make wholesale changes like P'Boro but just give Vuckic and LuaLua 30 mins etc. when we can, especially when we've ran out of ideas and are looking for a goal. Don't expect Hughton to rock the boat though.
-
I doubt there'd even be many more if they started winning tbh.

It's not just about team selection (as in this respect his hands are to an extent tied) its motivating the players so they're busting a gut to win the ball back and flying into 50-50s. Good managers can have rubbish players playing well (on paper Scunthorpe should never have beaten us, nor Notts Forest for that matter), it's all about organising your team and having the players know what they're doing. Our team has no fluidity and the blame for this has to be directed at the manager.

and you can just see ashley flogging enrique in january.
