Thought it was pretty bad from just under the away fans and I normally veer on the side of positive about these things. Nice and loud and defiant first 10 mins, (justifiably) nervous til the first goal then alright after that but a bit muted. Guess it depends where you are sat.

Yeah it hasn't worked out well so far but we've signed 3 of them on 5 year contracts or whatever. Tino looks fantastic, Tonali and Barnes will be good signings, and we'll see with Hall. We didn't really do anything wrong in the window, it's just sod's law how the first few months have gone. As I say I'm not taking issue with anyone pointing this stuff out but when it's the same people offering the most negative perspective in every thread, it's tedious.

I'm glad we went for it and always want us to play that way but do feel there may have been a bit of an oversight in not considering the opposition's motivations enough. Milan had to win, they had to open up themselves sometime so perhaps we shouldn't have blinked first in that sense. Whether that was possible with the personnel and the fitness levels, no idea. I'm sure we'll learn from it, this was new to almost everyone.

Agree to disagree as suspect we're both getting bored with this, but the narrative of that game is just wrong imo. We hung on second half and they had loads of shots. Before that we did play well, after that we defended magnificently.

Yeah I don't agree with the original comment that PSG didn't threaten in the away game, but you followed up saying we didn't play well that game. We did. ^ We were at least as good as PSG up until Isak's goal. Looked comfortable for the rest of the half too. Unsurprisingly we went more pragmatic after that. PSG didn't batter us, they tried and failed to score a goal for three quarters of the match. If we'd conceded an equaliser 2 minutes after Isak's goal then the above would have looked completely different.

Did you watch the first half? If so I can't say I agree whatsoever. Neither did the pundits at half time who said we'd been the better side. If we dig out the stats I think they'd back that up. Stats-aside we were tidy on the ball and measured off it. We held on second half when protecting a lead and tiring, which is important context.

We were just as good as PSG away first half and put in an outstanding backs-to-the-wall performance second half, which was the right thing to do in the context of the group and the available personnel. No way does that go into the "didn't play well" bracket.
