Protection of lower league attendances currently a blocker of a "PL-flix" type service, arguably rightly so although I'd love to see some data on it. One day the PL will think they can get away with it though and will go for it. Think if they sacked Sky etc off and got the pricing just right to maximise subscriptions they could make a ton of money, and it would be cheaper and more convenient for customers. Not sure if more lucrative for the PL than the current model though because Sky etc also use the rights to attract advertisers / upsell customers to other services etc.

Not necessarily, depends what their business model is. At the minute Apple must be running the service at a significant loss because TV is not cheap to make and there are so many free trials available. Apple still have a massive pile of cash reserves I think so maybe they just want people in the Apple ecosystem with their branding front and centre alongside quality content. Don't think Amazon put their Prime prices up much/at all when they acquired PL rights.

Agree it's daft like but keep an eye out for Apple TV free trials, there have been lots of them. I got 6 months through Barclaycard, you can get 3-6 months with PlayStation, and 6 months currently through the Sky VIP app if you have Sky. Need to get the Sky one by end of March I believe.

I'm objecting to someone posting on a NEWCASTLE forum saying anyone "whining and bitching" about the Tories is "utterly pathetic". Think that's fair

They've been fucking most of us and our families over since the 80s, so get fucked

Brazilian obsession with dancing comes back to haunt them again.

4 subs for Chelsea

Fuck's the point in Kepa, man?
-
I've fucked Man City off except Haaland. They're not keeping clean sheets anyway. Brought Botman in for Cancelo. I'm a bit stumped on a keeper to bring in to rotate with Ward. Ederson crossed my mind but as above and too expensive. Kepa? Raya? Had Pope for ages but want to keep space for 3 NUFC outfield players now.

Arsenal charged by the FA for failing to control their players against Oxford. That's 2 games in a row, innit?

It's just hit me that my granda who is a season ticket holder is 86 or something and probs won't want to go to Wembley if we get there. The final is on my birthday and I'm in London so hoping to God now that a) we get to the final and b) I can get a ticket. Probs need to fight it out with my brothers mind

(sorry)

99 cup* (sorry!) Would be quite poetic meeting them in the final with it being the last final we got to.

European clubs can make a killing off PL clubs these days. Guess it needs to be part of their business model, with comparatively low TV money.

Newcastle United 2-0 Leicester City (10/01/2023)

Fucking hate this co-commentator. Every chance missed he thinks it's his job to into tediously precise detail on what they should have done differently. It happens in a split second man you idiot, the player was trying his best to score. -
Beckham's performance against Greece in that qualifier was unbelievable. None of the other 10 England players turned up that day but he was like a man possessed.

PL stadium. Stupid rule.

Arteta wasn't a deep lying #6, was he? Certainly not like the others, he was always a huge goal threat at Everton anyway. -
Yeah they need to stockpile a few more attacking midfielders like.

Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 Newcastle United (07/01/2023)
Interpolic replied to Yorkie's topic in Football
My (other) brother was there, said it was an absolute joke getting in. Lots of bottlenecks on the way in and they had to rip off netting that covered 3 rows or else they couldn't work out how everyone was going to fit in. -

Love Isak, like. -
Plus we had significant periods where we were on top in the game. It was a similar split of pressure to us at Liverpool earlier on this season. Maybe 65% Arsenal 35% us. They were the home side. A lot of people being duped by the first 5 minutes and the last 10 minutes into thinking Arsenal were hugely dominant. They weren't.
