  1. I think people are just saying that the entire balance of the game shifted, it was looking grim on 40 minutes then we got 4 breaks in 5 minutes (2 sendings off, a penalty and the Williamson hand ball call leading to a goal). We seized the opportunity really well but I'm not sure how that can be disputed, I'd say it about any other side in the same circumstances, i.e. something along the lines of "They were barely in the game then 5 minutes of madness and the whole context of the game changed". Some clogger being a dafty on the halfway line sparked all of that off, so we were quite fortunate that he was thick as 2 short planks to spark a revival. To reiterate though - we took advantage really well and delivered a really pleasing second half show. Could have scored 8 or 9 in the end.
  2. We weren't unlucky against Southampton like, draw was a fair result.

Our lot did that booing thing every time the opposition got the ball versus Portsmouth/Boro in the relegation season, never heard them so intent on influencing a result as those games.
  4. Man, that's just an incredible post. We were obvs going gung-ho and I just can't see it because I don't really like Pardew's hair or accent very much.
  5. That's what I saw too. I know I don't like Pardew but I'm not going to accept that this will blind my ability to rationally view a match. Yep, me neither. Jesus Christ.
  6. Thought it was areet yesterday but definitely a case of the team / incidents in the match getting the crowd going rather than the crowd affecting matters much.
  7. We certainly had the rub of the green to get into that position and things weren't looking good at all on 40 minutes, but as I said earlier on you can only beat what's in front of you and we did that with aplomb, so good stuff. I'm watching MOTD and Shearer and Savage are both saying we were lucky to get all the decisions we did yesterday, not sure what their N-O usernames are but they're as manic-depressive Pardew-haters as anyone else on here going by the logic you're applying.
  8. Eh, who's this like? The ones who say, i've got no complaints with the league table but our performances are shit. Is anyone really saying our performances are utterly shit or are you complaining about people on an internet message board scrutinising performances again? That's going to happen, you might as well get used to it because it's not going to change. Most people don't just look at the result and say "Ah reet, nice one". My thoughts are that there's still room for improvement in performances without a doubt, but 22 points out of the last available 27 and playing nice stuff for significant periods is better than we've had it in a while, so you can't argue. I'd say we're playing better stuff than before Christmas in 11/12 which is really pleasing - I think we have a much more rounded squad than back then and we're building something a bit more solid and pleasing on the eye. However without being churlish to the manager and the team we'll not have so much of a clear run all season with injuries you wouldn't have thought, so we'll have to add to the squad in January and/or get some of the players on the fringes firing and contributing. Without any injuries our squad looks strong and we actually have options all over the pitch but I've seen enough seasons fall apart when a few players get injured and not just under this manager, so it would be nice if we pushed on and covered ourselves against that a bit. Yesterday was the most fun I've had at the match in a while like, was a really entertaining game and 8 goals in our last 2 games is a great sign of progress.

  10. Just been saying in the other thread - the second was 100% a booking like, don't think the first one was though.
  11. Fucking hell. Enjoyed the match yesterday like, first one I've been to since West Ham away because I've been in a huff with Mike Ashley and that. Thought from the first 40 minutes I'd be the usual jinx and really couldn't see us turning it around if I'm honest, Stoke formed a wall in front of their goal and we seemed a bit clueless in terms of having an answer with Remy looking isolated up front and various players looking out of sorts. From the highlights it looks like the first sending off at least was very harsh, the second yellow was a definite booking but the first one nowt really happened. The second red card is a situation that always seems harsh and isn't a punishment I really agree with but they're the rules and the fact Remy missed sort of justifies the punishment in a way. Anyway you can only beat what's in front of you and I was really pleased with our display second half, we tried to score as many as we could which is exactly what you should do in those circumstances, so fair play to the manager for an entertaining Boxing Day game when he could have shut up shop at 3-1. Tried to be a funny cunt by shouting "This referee's given us fuck-all today, the prick" late on when he didn't give us the benefit of some innocuous incident, it's not often you go to a game where you see 2 opposition players sent off and 2 pens given but we could have actually had another couple of pens as Stoke got tired and frustrated late on.
  12. Go suck a cock m8. Merry Christmas!
  13. Happy Christmas dicksplashes, all the best.
  14. No, I'm just doing it periodically now. Looking at the fixtures I'll probably update it after West Brom. The 5 minute Crystal Palace poll is below. http://i.imgur.com/vuMG3C7.jpg
  15. How are there more demands than in other countries? More cup games? We get knocked out in the early rounds of the cups every year man FFS.
  16. GW18: Hull 0-2 Man Utd Aston Villa 1-1 Crystal Palace Cardiff 1-2 Southampton Chelsea 3-1 Swansea Everton 4-1 Sunderland Newcastle 2-1 Stoke Norwich 1-1 Fulham Tottenham 2-0 West Brom West Ham 0-3 Arsenal Man City 4-2 Liverpool
  17. This is it for me, he tells a club that have been top 5 for the last 4 seasons that they can fuck off if they think he'll take the job on an interim basis, he's got nothing to prove and will happily go back to his job as youth team manager, and they fucking go for it after 2 games, which weren't even both wins.
  18. It's incredible that he's been able to go into one of the top jobs in the country with zero experience and been able to say he's not interested in anything but a permanent position. Some fucking Derren Brown shit going on here.
  19. I had a couple of quid on 0-0 like, cheers Jose petal.
  20. Even Shepherd waited until Roeder had "earned" the job by leading us to Europe from nowhere. This might end up working out but it makes no sense to have not even gave it 10 games or more to get a feeling for whether he was up for the job.
