The Chronicle's typo made that article really confusing, seems it isn't only Brett who gets Pardew and Mourinho mixed up.

Ba might well keep West Ham up like.

Oh sorry, I dunno really tbh - just seemed like one of those things to me.

Not really IMO, good penalty and he wasn't too far away.

You said "we've not much quality to pick from looking at the bench." Which bench? The one I saw had Cisse, Ben Arfa, Anita, Yanga-Mbiwa, Taylor and Haidara on it. 3 of them are defenders which 2 he used but I couldn't argue him keeping the same back 4... Anita is central midfield which was our best department today so couldn't argue with that... Up front I said I wouldn't of played Shola which removes Cisse from the bench also... I'd of liked to of seen a front 3 of Remy Cisse HBA... He made the HBA change at HT with us looking the better team but before he could get into his stride Colo got injured and Debuchy foolishly red carded... The blame more lies with HBA not shooting at the end and two bad touches by Remy when put through twice... You can't just keep blaming everything on someone not on the pitch... That implies we did enough to win the game and were unfortunate. We didn't and we weren't. People were saying similar after Swansea and Southampton, but a couple of missed chances don't make a performance acceptable or worthy of a win. Surely in that case it's the players who do the performing is where you are laying the blame at then?... Eh, seriously? You criticised the performances... The players are the ones who do the performing... I don't see what's hard to understand... I'm gathering you lie the the blame elsewhere... So out of interest in basic % terms how much % do you blame the players today and how much % do you blame AP?... Our outlook on matches is what I was criticising, I don't blame the players for that much at all but obviously they have some responsibility for how they perform. We'll get back to the old "Is Pardew instructing them to play negatively at certain periods of the game or do the players decide to do it of their own accord?" argument again, which we should really avoid because nobody really knows the truth and nobody ever wins - I think I know what's far more likely based on who the manager is and years of watching football but that's not tangible evidence I suppose.

I'm not sure if there's a rule against 2-footed challenges as such (might be dangerous play, which 2-footed tackles are universally now deemed as) but I 100% think a player should never go in with 2 feet and they should be sent off if they do so. It's dangerous and needless.

Comparing that to some of the benches we've had in the past is unreal like. It's a novelty not picking an 11 simply because they're available and older than 21.

The club will not take it seriously so I'll not. I know what you mean like but a cup's a cup. At least he can't blame the Europa League this year and we don't have many players out. -

Really? -
Seriously, do we have any injuries other than (now) Coloccini? And we have a ready-made replacement for him sat on the bench. These are luxuries I haven't seen many NUFC managers have, and he's still bemoaning his luck with injuries, fitness, etc.
-
Surely for a club like yourselves it doesn't make as much difference. You could play a reserve team in that competition and still make the latter stages.
-
Defeats versus West Brom, Everton, us and Spurs as well, not exactly the world beaters of the league.
-
Injuries. Is he just on about Coloccini going off? He's been so fortunate with injuries this year man. Also he needs to take some responsibility for tiredness since he's voluntarily not picking any more than 14 or 15 players. We did look very tired though, really sloppy.
-
Not giving him enough credit Beren, etc. Our results have been a bit all over the shop like, performances much better on the whole than the diabolical stuff we saw last season but still don't enjoy enough of what I see performance-wise. In patches we play some decent stuff aye, but controlling a game and attacking the opposition with intent will never form the basis of our tactics under this manager, not for any longer than 45 minutes ordinarily anyway. Today we didn't even see any concerted attacking effort whatsoever, as our tactic appeared to be boring the opposition to tears then nicking it late on, which went out of the window with Debuchy's challenge. I've seen some first halves this season where we've blitzed the opposition quite effectively and went in at HT 2 up, but even then you'll usually get the inevitable second half where we hang on for dear life. I'd say Man Utd and Crystal Palace were the only 2 games where you could say we had a decent degree of attacking intent for more than 45 minutes this season, but that's off the top of my head admittedly.
