We were brilliant without the ball yesterday and generally pretty sloppy with it, by our recent standards. Chelsea were lucky that we were so sloppy, that we were missing key personnel that would have punished them, and also of course that the officials gifted them the game. So we weren't at our best, we had key players out and still we limited Chelsea to very few chances and would probably have won the game if given the decisions we should have been

Have you used any free hits yet? If not keep in mind you have 2 to use, make sure you use both!

Couldn't happen to a bigger set of cunts.

So that didn't happen once in the Ashley era, fucking hell

Good lad. Although it's crazy it's even a discussion, obviously. Steve Bruce actually admits that he doesn't do much at all, he wears it like a badge of honour. And we're meant to believe he's still somehow a good manager, in the complex modern game.

Eeesh you called me out not cool

There is not one bit of tactical detail in any of his responses. "We'll analyse it" presumably means another Steve will tell him what happened. Blagging a living.

The way he says "Malta?!" forgot how funny he was. Happy birthday SBR.

Earlier this season I'd stopped watching the games, going shopping instead or even not bothering if I was in the house. Then I started watching the odd game out of morbid curiosity, fancying a laugh at how bad we were. Also to watch the fat plank in the dugout squirm and get his comeuppance. Tbh I couldn't switch the obsession straight back on, although I was immediately interested and have watched all the games closely since the takeover. The transfer window really got me excited about us again, seeing us sign the best players we could find in each position regardless of their age or sell-on value or whatever. Exactly the opposite of the Ashley era. Life has changed quite a bit so I doubt I'll be getting a season ticket or going to many away games again any time soon. It infuriates me that so much of my 20s and 30s were pointlessly spent watching such shit teams, but I'm watching the current team from afar and it's wonderful feeling like I give a fuck again. -
Didn't nearly set up a goal or do a nonchalant backheel between two players. He's going backwards fast.

I've had a re-think and don't think we'll stay up now as it took us until December to get our first win. There's still work to do but it was always far too early to be catastrophising about our chances the way some people were.

Think it's Amanda Staveley, mind.
-
Would 100% take him back as a squad player, not that I think it will happen or anything. His ability to play across the front to a decent level would be extremely useful.
-
This is another reason why your mate Pardew was such a disaster at NUFC, their PL-era record against us was laughable before he got involved.
-
Give him the keys to the city.

Trippier has been immense.

I'd give it an 8 in the context we were operating in. Seemed a nightmare. Still managed to sign some big talent and some solid characters. I'm fairly confident we'll stay up now because of the signings and the fact Howe seems to have stopped the rot a bit. It'll be cagey though. Really hope that in the summer we sign a player that can play right across the front line, we've lacked one since Remy and it solves so many squad problems over the course of the season in the modern game.
