Watch Liverpool and Man U fans try to claim credit for saving the football league. “It would never have happened if we didn’t try to seize power.” Have a few questions like. Why did this go to a vote? There was a leak to the papers about secret talks going back 3 years a few days ago and today all PL clubs actually voted on it. Seems weird. The 2/6/whatever clubs that were proposing this must have expected it to get rejected, was it therefore simply an initial bargaining position? The talk of a "prompt strategy review" worries me, I don't want to see anyone bending to any of their whims whatsoever.

The proposal is a complete piss take for clubs who have the capacity to upset the apple cart in the short to medium term such as us, Leicester, Wolves, Leeds, Villa etc. And for clubs lower down who could be in that position at some point, I mean look at Brentford who were in the 4th tier as recently as 2009 and are now on the verge of the PL. So it affects every club as it completely removes the concept of being in control of your own destiny - the whole pyramid would be at the mercy of in reality 6 clubs who would always vote in their own self interest. And it is designed so those clubs would never fall outside that position of power. The fact they've dressed it up as a necessity to finally start distributing revenue a bit more fairly is transparently cynical in the extreme. At least it'll be funny when the evil plan they've been hatching for 3 years gets kicked into touch by the PL clubs they're trying to fuck over.

A purely selfish thing but one of the things I loved about the championship was that the games came thick and fast. Fewer teams means fewer games and I fear i'd become even more detached if we weren't in action as much. They're talking about fucking off the League Cup as well, so the plebs of the PL would only play 35 games a season if they got knocked out of the FA Cup in round 3.

This will be one of the main motivations for this whole proposal from the 'big six'. They've been moaning for a while at the relatively equal distribution of TV money, which to anyone but them is a positive thing that makes the league more competitive. But they want to be in Real/Barca's position where they're hoovering up all the TV revenue instead.

It worries me how many people have said a fiver a match would have been fair enough but 15 quid is too expensive. It's more money on top of an already fairly obscene amount of money to the average person. Where's the goodwill for fans of the game who have by and large been through a shit time all year? It has crossed my mind that maybe I'm being harsh/unrealistic because all clubs have lost a revenue stream in the form of gate receipts and will want to replace that. Then I remember the outrageous sums of money that have been thrown around by PL clubs in the last few months. They had a choice then whether to restructure their finances a bit while we're in such unusual times but they've decided instead to carry on as normal and try to bleed yet more cash out of the fans to fill the financial void. 19 clubs to 1 voted for this and 19 clubs to 1 are so tone deaf it's unreal. I said a few months ago that it was a no brainer for the PL to take learnings from lockdown and show 10 or so games a season on free to air TV once crowds are back in. The viewing figures have been and will be huge, it increases the reach of the league getting more people interested and is good PR that creates goodwill on both sides. Instead we hear this spiteful waffle that the PL are increasingly disappointed they've had to give so much of their product away for free?! That just about sums it up. I thought we'd see the PL at least throw fans a bone as a result of this situation, yet they've become even more entrenched in their disgusting greed. So depressing.

Come to think of it, the PL are probably thinking they'll fleece domestic fans to make up for the shortfall in Chinese revenues given what recently happened with the broadcaster over there.
-
Paying considerable money for THREE separate subscriptions isn't enough for them When most people are super worried about losing their jobs and various other things. Tone deaf greedy wankers.
-
I'm fucking furious at that like. Having all the games on the telly recently has been really good and made perfect sense given there were no fans in the ground. But as usual, the greedy cunts can't fucking help themselves. Depressing.

You're just naming transfers.
-
Might well fuck this cunting thing off tbh.
-
Pre-lockdown results weren't that weird at all but the first 4 weeks of this season have been fucking mental.
