Heard Shearer's out too.
-
Was it not because he was a bit of a no-nonsense defender and was up against players who could play a bit? Even in the 90s there was a sense that international football was different to club football and required a bit more finesse all over the pitch. Regardless it is obviously weird that Bruce didn't pick up at least a few caps, but I guess that's what will happen if you get a run of a few managers that don't fancy you.

Ah feck. I been whooshed? No, TBG is a very serious man.

Was quality and fairly harrowing, thanks Sewelly

Yeah we know, SEMTEX

At least Pardew embraced the fact he was an utter wanker and went with it. This wanker pretends he isn't one because it helps him hang on to his own shit career.

It's not worth over-analysing the idea that Bruce deserves a chance, given that anyone who says he does is either thick as fuck, a WUM, doesn't want Newcastle to succeed, or a mixture of all 3.

Fucking hate that bald cunt Guardiola.

The Haves and the Havertz

Hopefully that puts an end to people saying what a nice bloke he is. He's Ashley's mouthpiece, same as Pardew. In it for himself and doesn't give a fuck about the club.

It was a funny season, 00/01. First season with the increased capacity and too many of the signings didn't work out. Bassedas, Cordone, Gavilan, Cort - none of them much cop for one reason or another. Remember Mick Wadsworth getting a lot of flack as the perception was he was recommending the South American players. Shearer was mostly injured too. Tbh Robson was lucky (and therefore we were lucky) that Bellamy and Robert ended up being such transformative signings as it might have all gone south if not.

I feel bad about Tyldsley as he does seem a decent enough bloke but I can't stress enough how much I hate his fucking commentary. Genuinely ruins matches for me with his incessant cheese, bullshit and arse kissing. Thinks he's a fucking poet, the daft cunt. He's such a modern football personality in all the wrong ways. That said, ITV have fuck-all football coverage atm so I was resting easy knowing I didn't need to deal with him much. If he pops up on Sky or BBC it's bad news.

Yep think I can join

Was starting to think is he just Iheanacho II? Interesting to see how he’d get on without the service he gets there. I think he'll end up having a pretty good career, but always thought he was a bit overrated for what he'd actually shown. There was a period where he was keeping Aguero out of the Man City team and Firminho out of the Brazil team, which just seemed mental to me and was presumably based on potential rather than actual output at the time.

Must still have the Requiem For A Dream DVD on the team bus. -
You could probably buy Half of Norwich for that. That would put Norwich on the map.

Huge game. -
"The supporters are now hopelessly divided on the manager, minds closed, views entrenched. Much like the political world. Nobody can admit they were wrong, two tribes blinded by own desire to be “right”" Which part of this is not Edwards himself? Except his view seems to be shaped mainly by who he's pal-y with.

Reet I'm off. Pointless, these games -
Jermaine Defoe is annoyingly close but not quite. Peter Crouch ain't far off either.

Various: N-O has lost the plot over potential end of Mike Ashley's tenure
Interpolic replied to Jinky Jim's topic in Football
These watershed lows aren't always the cliff edges I expect them to be personally. Instead I find my interest has been dwindling for a good while. It will take a considerable dip if we're stuck with Ashley again next year but I'll probably still have our game on in the background if it's on and I'm not busy. I'm largely bored of it though, and I doubt there's room for my enthusiasm to reach full levels again if the takeover does happen. How much of that is down to Ashley, the stacked deck nature of the PL and probably my age and lifestyle now, I don't know. Definitely a combination of all of those though. -

Will be anxiously checking the other scores to see if we hang on to 12th. -
Ambassador The cunt's avoided our club almost his entire adult life, until it finally suited his ego and pocket.
