  1. I'm pretty sure I can see Larry David.

    This season...

Not too fussed if it seems egotistical: http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,74502.0.html

    Leon Best

I think he's a crap all-round player, but also believe that if a Premier League team started him in 30-38 games, he'd score them about 10 goals. He gets in really decent positions and isn't a bad finisher at all. His heading is shit and his lay-offs, passing, etc are fucking shit n'all. I think he has potential for improvement given his size, but atm he's a player that contributes little to overall play but will pop up with a goal now and then. He's also clearly got a bit of character about him as well. He does not hide and he earns his wedge when he's on the pitch as far as I'm concerned.
  4. Another few observations: - I don't think Nolan really pushed the keeper over, he just put his arm round him and he fell over. The ref did well not to lose his head and not just send him off because it was a vaguely comparable incident to what had happened earlier on. - The 'soft' penalty, the 2nd penalty... the linesman flagged for it so you can't really blame Dowd as such. - I don't think Van Persie was offside at the end, I think he was level. Therefore that's a goal that should have actually stood.
  5. Keep watching this and noticing new things. This time the faint cries of "SHOOOOOOT" when it falls in front of Tiote. 99% of the time those cries are stupid and redundant, but not this time. And the cries were definitely faint, because not a lot of people thought he could or would be able to even fucking attempt it. Just absolutely immense stuff.
  6. Hahahaha, I'm listening to the highlights of 5-1 against the mackems off that same page and Lockwood says at 5-0:  That is first class, Lockwood I salute you.
  7. You people, who have the power to rock Arsenal and rattle picture frames on another continent, you are all class. I LOVE NUFC!!!! It's undeniably very true. If the fans had turned on them or went quiet then we wouldn't have even got a consolation goal imo.
  8. Possibly the most nonsensical sentence in the history of humankind. Well played. Well yeah, exactly. What do you mean neesy, that we acknowledged we'd sold them a crock and agreed to buy a crock in return?
  9. Anywhere near... He's BETTER. Considering the players his playing with, the fact that he's able to unlock defences like Essien did without the support seems to indicate that Tiote is better than Mikey I disagree that he's better than Essien, not yet anyway. If he starts chipping in with goals, learns that he can't dally on the ball at times and stops picking up needless bookings then he's genuinely got it all though imo. Delighted that he's playing for us. I think he is purely based on the fact of his nature of club. Essien had Jose and the likes of Lampard and Terry to learn from, who does Tiote have? The fact that he seems to be teaching others also is good. I do agree with the fact he needs less bookings but a few more goals?? What about today LOL/ Well, yes he scored a goal. If he can start scoring a handful each season then he's an even handier player.
  10. Can't wait to see the 'Conned Over Carroll' t-shirts on the terraces like, will be immense.
  11. do bidding wars happen anymore now that the player just decides where he wants to go. If Spurs were willing to pay more for Carroll then there would have been a bidding war over him imo. Can't see why he'd have been reluctant to go there in the circumstances.
  12. Anywhere near... He's BETTER. 13. Do people think he's anywhere near as good as Michael Essien? Smallprint: who went for about £24m before he'd even cemented his reputation as a top player at Chelsea.
  14. I think he saved his "playing football is a lot like making love to a beautiful woman" speech for today.

    Joey Barton

When he's fit, he's fantastic. He's made me eat my words to an extent this season, it's impossible not to love him when he's in this form.
  16. I've only been to 4 matches this season, and tbf I feel a bit fucking short-changed considering some of the games we've been involved in. Arsenal at home in league cup (got beat 4-0), Man City at home (beaten after 5 minutes), Birmingham away (called off, but at least I bought some light bulbs from Birmingham Tesco's, been meaning to do that for a while), Fulham away the other night (just canny shit basically). Next one I'm going to is the re-arranged Birmingham match. Might bring one of the lightbulbs back cos it's well fucking dim.
  17. 50 odd pages on our game.....not obsessed. Just goes to show how bitter and twisted they are. I'd have been pissing myself laughing if Sunderland had done the same. They'll never learn. Well exactly, and I'd like to think that's one characteristic that we don't display very often as fans. Hence the reason I seem to start a lot of sentences with "IF we don't get relegated" at the moment.
  18. Just a sly little powerbomb on Danny Simpson would be canny.
  19. I was shitting it at 4-3 like. Yeah, I had a bit of belief but my better judgement was telling me that it would fizzle out or they'd break away and get a 5th.
