It was weird, when he left Howe pretty much said in the following presser that we were looking to replace him. Didn’t in that window or the following one.

I think we’ll massively benefit from the fixtures slowing down in January. Seems as if the squad have just been doing recovery sessions inbetween games and not working on shape, Howe said as much himself after the game yesterday.

He’s not a defensive mid imo. I think we’re desperate for one so that he can move into one of the advanced midfield positions. Has he always been this slow? Feel like i’ve never noticed it until this season but it looks like he’s barely moving when at full pelt.

I agree we miss a player like ASM but I don’t think it is ASM we miss. He’d have 1 million percent been injured for most of this season, like he always was. i just can’t agree on Wood. He was terrible for us and the only thing about him we’ve missed is a body to bring off bench when one of Isak/Wilson have been injured and the others needing a rest due to large amount of games.

This is my one big issue with Howe. There seems to be loyalty to certain players but not others. Burn walked straight back into team despite Tino offering more and then things like Longstaff staying on pitch ahead of Miley against Luton when Longstaff has been poor since coming back into the side. It doesn’t send a good message to the fringe players that they can get in the team and stay there when he seems so set on a first 11 when fit.
