They could be. On the other hand it could be Northern Rock who ended it thus giving Virgin Money the opportunity to make their own mind up about sponsorships. wouldn;t they have done that without making it official they were pulling out ? isn't it likely they asked virging if they wanted to leave and the result is virging replied "no, get out of it" Virgin only seem to have sorted the business side of the deal out, I.E. what their are paying for the business and how they are going to rebrand it and expand it. So far they haven't even started discussions about other things, like for example the Northern Rock foundation which in their own words they have said "It's safe until at least 2013 which by then we will have discussed about weather or not we will continue with it". I would have thought that sponsorships would be the least biggest things on their mind right now. Lets not forget that Virgin have a racing team and such all just to advertise their brands. Sponsoring NUFC would be a good idea if they want to play the "Where a Newcastle group" card, however I would have thought that in their minds the expansion would be focused outside of the North East where Northern Rock/Virgin Money is already very established and into other areas where theirs little to no branches. I'm sure they would want to advertise in a way to represent that.

That can all be turned around very fast, it would only take a few days to make new boards plus you also have to consider the fact that theirs a lot of electronic ones as well. The sale doesn't go through until January the 1st and it is also subject to some sort of fair play finance take over reviews well so nothing in the sense of name changes on advertisements can go through until then because Virgin Money won't actually own Northern Rock until then.

    Sunderland...

Could you imagine it today. Northern Rock sponsor Newcastle, Virgin Money has bought Northern Rock, Virgin Money is owned by the Virgin group = I don't want to be a a Mag so I'll cancel my Virgin Media subscriptions and move to Sky and 02, next year I'll fly with British Airways form my holiday instead of Virgin Atlantic and I'll shag my sister so she's not one of those Virgin Mag cunts either.

Didnt Palace have that vile Virgin sign on their shirts years ago? I don't know, maybe. In all honesty it doesn't really matter, fans are unlikely able to buy that shirt and not many would choose to seeing as a new one will just be around the corner and we will only see it on our players for a few months.

The bottom line is that until the end of the season we are sponsored by Northern Rock who on January 1st will become Virgin Money, we are still sponsored by them, we will be sponsored by Virgin Money until the end of the season.

Northern Rock is a two part company and Virgin Money are only buying half. Theres a good chance we will continue to have NR on our shirts til May unless they chose to sever it early surely? No chance, we are sponsored by the bit thats been bought by Virgin Money.

Even though the sale of the bank will only be complete on January 1st it will still take quite a few months to complete the rebranding which should see us to the end of the season. That means we could still have Northern Rock on our shirts until the end of the season as there will still be Northern Rock branches, or we could simply just be given a new sponsored shirt to wear from January with Northern Rock ones still be sold. I remember a few years ago when XL went bust, West Ham just ironed on new sponsors over the old XL ones and sold them like that. It wouldn't surprise me if thats what we do, though it could mean that some people will be able to get this seasons shirt fairly cheap if they just sell them off.

It's going to be a fashion retailer. FCUK French Connection UK.
  10. Estonia are down to 10 men now.
  11. Are Ireland playing in the same stadium as we did when we played FC Tallin (or someone to that sort of name) in the UEFA Cup a few years back?

Well we are in a great place in the league to start off on negotiations unlike the last time when we were in the Championship. Not only that but it's pretty much guaranteed that Virgin money is buying Northern Rock and renaming it, so we would only have had 11 men out there with the name Virgin strapped across their chests. Probably more apt to use that sponsorship for the academy to be honest. I highly doubt Sports Direct will be our Sponsor, Ashley will want money coming in from outside the club and his pockets.

It's not going to happen. I'd love it to be true but it's not going to happen.

  15. One game at a time. Everton is next. Yes it would be nice to take some points against Man City, Man Utd, and Chelsea and yes our chances are slim but lets take each and ever game as it comes. First of all we need to get something out of Everton.
  16. He scored a hat-trick against them whilst with West Ham (I think). Looks like the booing helped them this time... That has got to be the best scroll down lol ever.
  17. It kind of confirms that we are not in the competition with these clubs. We are competing against the other clubs and we are by no means going to be challenging the top 4/6 at the end of the season. The teams we are challenging though are the rest of the pack and so fare haven't "failed" those tests.
