Rangers win 2-1.
-
Was it just me or did Gers have the same tune as we have, when the players came out of the tunnel in the second half?
-
Even thoguh Ashley has been a disater for us, I still find myself wanting him to hold on untill someone else comes along. Moat does not not have the resources to run the club, he's struggling to get moeny together to buy it. It's like buying a sports car without any money to run it, or a house, without any money for fuel bills, and the shopping etc.

I've only just turned the game on. I missed the Gers goals. I rather like Gers, I was hopeing to get tickets for the game, from a friend of mine who is a football agent, and is also on the books as a scout at an English club, unfortunatly all the scout tickets had gone.

Damn, 2-1 Cmon Gers.

I'm disapointed we didn't win. It was a good chance to go a little further clear, now we find ourselves in a position where one set of games could change a whole lot. Anyway, if we see it a 1 point gained, then it's good.

But stil had to use facilities of Newcastle as part of the bid, and a picture of the Tyne. Ever wounderd where the "surrounding area"? is when they say Wearside and the surrounding area.... in their world cup bid page.

Lets hope we win this game. 5 points clear, going into the weekend, 7 of 3rd place. That is if we win. We have to take these chances when they come along, I don't think WBA will actually drop many points this season, it maybe a case of on any other season they would of finished top, if it wasn't for us. -
I don't think thats right, I just see it as The FA, FIFA, and Uefa are going to see it thewe do, everyone will be using Newcastle's facilities if it was hosted in Albania, and Newcastle has a larger stadium, known world wide, so we know that it would be stupid for anyone to take Albania over Newcastle. However I only think the mackems want it, is to have one over us.
-
Houghton isn't a manager, he has shown that already this season when having to make tough decisions when we were a goal behind in games, and the inclusion of Butt speaks volumes. I don't want Shearer here either, I think we need stability and experience. For me the two names who come to mind are Strachan and Bilic.

What are Sunderlands next fixtures?, say the next 6, I'm just interested, to see where they can (hopefully lose points). I wouldn't say I'd want them to go down, us coming up is more important, if they go down that would be a bonus, not that I can see it happening though, Hull and Portsmouth have each claimed a relegation spot, and their is a few worse then Sunderland to fill the last relegation spot. Anyway, I have Keogh (or whatever he is called) in my dream team, so a hatrick today for him wouldn't go a miss. Nice to see Darren Bent having a Skysports interview in a Newcastle bar though . ALso nice for Skysports to say twice that Sunderland are the only Premiership team in the NE now, but atleast they brought those smb's back down to ground when he said the last time that happpend, Sunderland went down. Same again please.

I'm watching match of the day now, just to laugh at them. Anyway, does anyone else think that the Premiership and MOTD is more enjoyable now, that we don't have to hope for other results to go our way, and we arn't watching us play poorly?

3-0 We will be too tough, it may take us a little while to get a goal and break them down, but as soon as they do, I feel they will fall apart. They have never really lived up to the hype from last year when they were bought, kind of similar to Nott's County, and hopefully Man City. -
I am rather surprised that we won with such a high-ish score line, without ever really getting going. Yes Ipswich are near the bottom of the table, but I was still expecting it be rather close, or atleats closer then what happend. Butt was appaling. What I did find good about us and surprising was our ability to switch/pass the ball from one wing to the other with one pass, and alot of them accuratly, something which we tried and failed so many times last year.

If we win today, then I will be over the moon with this weekend's results, regardless of how them who shall not be named get on tomorrow. Just seeing Hull and Phil Brown fail is good in my eyes, a team who are the 3rd best supported club in their own city staying up at our expense, with a mackem manager, they will forever be hated in my eyes, even though I was supporting them in their play off final (simply because they were the most Northern team).
-
Just to point out another error in that article, if they did go into administration, then it will only be a 9 point deduction, because they are in the Premier League.

Greater Manchester police is a force who have to deal with teams playing at home at the same time nealry every week. Bolton, and Oldham are all in Greater Msanchester, as well as others, so their force is larger to deal with that type of situation. It's common for 3 teams to play in Manchester at the same time. Here we are fortunate to have the situation where their is only 2 clubs (major) that the force have to deal with. This means that their is no need to be put under any unneccasary pressure to deal with 2 games at the same time.

I wish that club and it's manager all the misery in the world.
-
I'm sure with soo many people having soo many good things to say about him, it could of gone on forever. After Sir Alex made his speech and went to sit down, was it just me who thought he looked like he had a tear in his eye?
-
Given with out a doubt, left us in the sh*t, as for the excuse about the Liverpooli being what made his mind up, yeah right, what about the times Man Utd hammerd us 6-2, 5-1, or Birmingham beating us when they were in the Championship 5-1? He saw Man City's money and ran. It's great to know that he can still conceed 4 goals a game when he's not with us anymore. He's a good shot stopper, but in a few years time, Krul will be twice as good as Given ever was.

Sounds to MLS style to me, works fine for those countries that have 1 million cities with atleast one team each (or will have in a few years), but for England, the system has worked well for years, so no need for a North vs South at a pro level. It's ok in the non league, due to travel budgets, and players having jobs to go to, but at a high level their is no need for it. Again though, it would be interesting to see Rangers and Celtic in the EPL, even if they do get relegated.
-
I see what you are saying, at work today I was talking to a mackem, and he said in his opinion, it's best to finish 2nd, because if you are champions you are paraded and hailed through out the summer, so eveyone knows about you coming up, and if you win the play off's it's the same. Where as if you finish 2nd, you can just get on with it because no one really takes as much notice. I must admit he has a point, but I think WBA will slip up soon, hopefully to Crystal Palace next week. But I also must say that today I have been proved right, I said Boro haven't really had a test yet, and that I don't think they would stand up to one, and they had one today, and failed big time, play off's at best for them in my opinion.
-
I think it would be a good idea to have Celtic and Rangers in the EPL, just mainly to shut them up, and so everyone can laugh when they are relegated, like they did when we were. Anyway, I think Newcastle will draw a short draw if the leagues are divided by North and South, as it means we will have, Man U, Man City, Liverpool, Everton, and possibly Aston Villa all above us and untoucable for a couple of years atleast. Basically I see it as a way of the Bolton chairman making sure his team are in the EPL forever, as it will only have 1, yes 1 relegation place.
-
I've just seen the goals on SSN. Anyway, is it just me who is still really disapointed that we didn't win in the midweek?, I'm still unhappy that we arn't top of the league, though it means nothing at this stage of the season and we are only 1 point off. I do think WBA will slip up, but I get the feeling that both us and them will walk this league, and everyone else will be left scrapping for the play off places.

I had always liked to see an established Premiership team go down once a year, with that I mean a club that has been in the Premiership atleast 5 years, I got my wish last year with boro going down, but it came back and bit me with us going down. Anyway, not anymore, not since I've experienced it myself, whoever goes down goes down, it could be Sunderland and I wouldn't care , just so long as Newcastle go up and don't ever go down again.
