  1. I literally just have just before you posted that. Writing it reminded me that I needed to make another donation.
  2. A lot of people don’t have a lot of money. What would you rather do, buy a new shirt (which at the moment is still nearly full price), or go to the match on the spare money that you do have? In saying this, I never bought 1 Wonga shirt at all, and I only bought a couple from the Fun88 era.
  3. That forum is a disgrace, everything is an advert, the Chronicle are looking on in envy.
  4. Doncaster finally promoted back to League One earlier today. Wrexham currently 2-0 up against Charlton, which would seal their promotion to the Championship.

With work we do a lot of work and have a base in Sunderland. There are a lot of nice areas in Sunderland, especially on the Southside when you get away from Hendon and Grangetown. I can drive down boulevards in Sunderland with nice 1930’s style semi-detached home, absolutely stunning and anything like that in areas of Newcastle, and North Tyneside would be highly desirable and rather costly. One thing that I have noticed is that they have a lot of parks/greenlands scattered about. Which is something that parts of Tyneside lack in comparison. If you look at areas where that were typically taken the piss out of, like Pennywell, even those houses/areas look much nicer now, and have new estates in them. They look no rougher than an ordinary council estate now, which is something that’s happening across the country, including here on Tyneside. Naturally it still has some estates and housing stock that makes you go ‘No thanks’, but to make out like Sunderland is a city full of soviet era styled brutalist nightmare, would be wide of the mark. I do maintain that it is a town and not a city though. Newcastle before the alive after 5 initiative used to have criticism for it’s lack of things being open on nighttime that aren’t a bad, but it was never as bad as Sunderland is after 6pm. The whole town centre literally shuts down, that’s even on a Friday night.
  6. Yeah, it’s part of their retro range. For what it’s worth, River plate are getting a shirt next year with the Adidas 3 stripes on the cuffs of the sleeves, instead of up the sleeves. It would be good if our 3rd retro option has that feature next season.
  7. She’s been a loyal servant, I wish her all the best in future.

You have to remember that they are wanting to be a giant of a club. 25 years ago SJP with a new capacity of 52k became the 2nd biggest club stadium in the country, well 2nd biggest football stadium considering Wembley was being demolished. Next season it will become the 12th biggest club stadium, so basically a lower half average Premier League stadium. A 50k capacity doesn’t get Villa to where they want to be. On top of this they are taking out some corporate seats which is a PSR requirement these days. Currently Aston Villa do well on concerts and other events, but Birmingham City are about to build a purpose built 60k seater stadium which will be aiming to take away the other events from Villa Park. These plans are also a much diluted version of plans they lodged a few years ago, which would have be a starting point for a full redevelopment of Villa Park. In short, it would be akin to us extending the Gallowgate, whilst Sunderland built a new stadium fit for the modern era. New Villa plans, compared to old.

That stand just feels like a stop gap that will never be improved upon. Villa are on the cusp of cementing themselves as an elite club domestically. I think that a stand rebuild still doesn’t address the needs of modern stadia required for such a team other than an increase in supporters, which is modest. Aston Villa should have either been looking at a new stadium (understandable challenges if they go for a new site), or a total rebuild of Villa Park. I can’t help but think that if/when we get our new stadium off the ground, they’ll be looking at it with regret and envy, just as much as I do with Spur’s stadium, or some of the newer NFL ones.
  10. Wouldn’t you also have to drop down to the Championship to play as us as well? Edit: No, season before.
  11. When she was playing, women’s football was nowhere near the level it as at now, so no one had really heard of her until the Mark Sampson bullying case. If she was bullied upon her race, which there is no reason to doubt considering she had people saying similar, and because he was accused of much the same later on, then that’s not on. She has clearly seen it as an MO though. In all my time of seeing her on TV, she has absolutely nothing to add. She has no insight, no charisma, nothing. The same applies for Leanne Sanderson, absolutely fucking woeful and neither of them do anything to help women in the industry. There has been a few on SSN and that the likes of BBC have used who have been rather decent and insightful, and suddenly they are not seen of again, or certainly don’t get much of an opportunity like them two do.
  12. Similar to our Wembley story.
  13. It’s going to take fucking years for them to even break ground on that new Old Trafford. They need to move the railway yard first, and that will take years in itself. In the meantime the costs for their new stadium will soar, the plans will be unrealistic, and it will be diluted down in order to achieve it, both from a practical point of view, but also from a financing one.
  14. They still have an outside chance.
  15. Organise him a viewing party in Newcastle instead, apparently it works.
  16. Ideally you’d say so, but I think at this stage just having promotion confirmed is what they want the most. If anyone could fuck it up for here, it would be them.
  17. As I have already told your dad, they will just be fucked out of staying up. West Ham situation, Aston Villa situation. If they do go up, I fully expect them to win every single game only the Premier League to deduct them 114 points for PSR breaches.
  18. I’m telling you now that Sunderland are winning the play offs.
  19. It’s been a shit game so far considering a win for Burnley promoted them, and Sheffield United realistically need a win.
  20. Not really had all that much to do.

If they fail to win the playoffs they absolutely will be, whilst claiming hounding managers out is ‘Mag behaviour’.
  23. Harrogate are safe now. Doncaster are now a win away from going up, and have it in their own hands to become Champions. Not bad considering a week ago it looked like they had blown automatic promotion.
  24. 67,000, with another 20,000 locked out in the Sheepfolds and then asking why the SOL isn’t being extended.
