  1. How didn’t he get to that? It was right at him.
  2. Trying to place a bet on them to win the league, but Ladbrokes don’t have a market for it.
  3. A bit of both I guess, mostly part of the plan. Staveley should be able to cash in on her shares which would see her debt paid off, and probably still leave her in a better position than she has been in before. The club are able to issue shares to themselves, thus raising capital in the club without having to make accommodations for her. At houses room level we now have everyone we need to run the club in a manner of the likes of Man City, and PSG without the need for her or her husband. As I mentioned in my post earlier, it allows PIF to make the decision they need to move the club forward, both in terms of investment, but also making difficult decision that may not be popular with supporters. I’m talking moving to a new stadium or rebuilding SJP, new club badge for better marketing purposes etc. The club now doesn’t have that face with the supporters that is accountable. There will be negatives to this, but if they make the right decisions, despite them not being popular, then we may well benefit, and that will be the intention.
  4. I’ll be sad about them leaving. The club got to them in a good way. They connected with the fans, the area etc. Little things like the windows eventually being washed, bringing Adidas back, and the Newcastle sign. I doubt any of that happaned without them getting to know the club, and listening to supporters. What we have now is a group of people who will be very good at their job, but maybe not emotionally tied to us. PIF now ultimately have the blank slate to make the difficult decisions. Ok long term they will likely all be best for the club, but you’ll likely have less input as a fan now. We’ll now likely have the new stadium, be it a rebuild, or a new location, it will have a sponsored name, and no longer be SJP (if it’s a rebuild). We’ll end up getting a new club badge. Popular, and local players will go for better players, possibly more evident this year with the women’s team. We all know this was going to come eventually, but when those decision are made, and when we have things like the sign that is little in the grand scheme of things, but massive to the supporters, we’ll no longer have them there for us. I hope they get some peace though. We all know about her lawsuits which is likely to leave PCP bankrupt, or not far off. Hopefully they are able to settle all of that, spend sometime with their son, and hopefully they are able to watch us as fans, and don’t go tying up another deal for say West Ham. Above all else, hopefully this isn’t being pushed by Amanda’s medical condition.
  5. Down to the rumours from yesterday.
  6. Yeah, I saw people who had bought their shirt in JD, and went to the club store to get printing on it.
  7. Not directly related to us, but here is an advert that is being shown in Saudia Arabia now, and a MENA based journalists view/observation of it, showing society progress in Saudia Arabia.
  8. He’ll move this summer. Final year of his contract now.
  9. Pretty much everything he says is false, especially when it comes to developments. Anyone who has any interest in urban development can see through him. It wasn’t long ago he got the owner on St James’ Terrace on saying how he would sell to the club if they needed to knock the buildings down. The owner knows full well that can’t happen, everyone who knows about listed building status knows full well it can’t happen. I know on here we joke about moving Leazes Terrace and St James’ Terrace to Beamish, but people out there think it’s a serious proposal. Beamish is build from buildings that were either torn down, or at risk of being torn down. Doing that to a listed building just can’t and won’t happen, but he goes on as if it’s actually a possible plan. Is he also the one who said the club are looking to move the whole Leazes Terrace building into the tennis courts?
  10. It’s July for the away kit, no specific date, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s not until after the Euro’s. August for the 3rd kit, again no specific date, although I would guess it would be the Friday when pre-season starts, or before the regular season starts. Other merchandise to drop from September at various intervals.
  11. True Faith were the original Twitter idiots before Twitter existed. Always overreacting, then calming down and having a go at people who overreacted. When they had the actual magazine they always had at least 1 article of someone fondly remembering hooliganism. It would go as far as people being on holiday and writing in about the local club on their holiday and their hooligans. I stopped reading it when I was a teenager, and have never felt inclined to take an interest in their digital offerings. It makes sense that narcissists like Alex Hurst are well in there.
  12. Nah, that’s where North Shields Juniors and North Shields Athletic, the teams who have taken over North Shields play. There is a clubhouse there called the 3 Sails. You have a good chance of running into Malcolm MacDonald there.
  13. So Gateshead are coming to play North Shields next Thursday. That should hopefully get a decent crowd in for North Shields, some good fixture for North Shields really.
  14. With the takeover of North Shields by North Shields Athletic/North Shields Juniors, my stepdad (who is the kit-man for North Shields Athletic) who hasn’t been out of the house since having a leg amputation before Christmas, is now considering going to North Shields games. He hasn’t been to a North Shields game since the early 00’s when he took me (The FA Vase final aside). I think like everyone, he lost interest when he realised that the club had no ambition. Now they will have some ambition, and it should be easier for him to access, than North Shields Athletic games. It will be great for the community to start getting back involved with them, and I think they stand a good chance of loads of fans returning. I think I’ll try to get a few games, presuming they don’t clash with NUFC games. Although I will be on to them to start accepting card payments on the gate, and at the food kiosk.
  15. The summer transfer market never really gets going until mid July in anyway, and it always has a delay when international tournaments are on. The only reason there has been a little flurry of activity so far is down to PSR deal really.
  16. I love him, and yes his final ball needed work, but if he had that then he wouldn’t have been here past 18 months under the Ashley regime. Ultimately he was the best we were ever going to have under Ashley, and when we got took over, he was always under a clock of when he would become 2nd fiddle, and then ultimately leave. He always gave his all for us, he never gave us problems, and he was a fans favourite for a reason, always down to his attitude. The Premier League maybe was too big of a challenge for him, and he probably could have been a club legend for any club in any other European League, aside from the big giants. I hope he has fond memories here, and I hope he has an attitude similar to Jonas, and Solano about the club, and the area after he has left us. For him, I actually hope he either gets that move back to Atlanta and helps them challenge again, or goes back to his boyhood club, and does well. He actually deserves to see out his playing career somewhere where he loves, will feel adored, and will always been useful to the team/squad, rather than going to Saudi (no disrespect to Saudi) and getting a load of money, playing for 12-18 months, and going out without much fanfare. Maybe he can do both. From his Insta account it seems like he helps his family, and his hometown a lot, so maybe earning a shit load of money, and giving back to them is him, and his ultimate fitting legacy. One of my cats will forever be called MiguEllie Almirón.

Eh, what the fuck are you on about? I’m not saying he’s not good, I’m just saying that he’s not class. I compared him to keepers from the 90’s/00’s because if they were around now, Pickford wouldn’t get a look in.

I don’t think he is class, but he does have a thing for saving penalties. His overall performances are nowhere near the standard of keepers from the 90’s/00’s.
  19. Weghorst has to be one of the worst forwards to keep getting chances at the top level.
