I can’t ever see it ever being able to be turned around. I’ve said it before, their fans and their marketing department requires them getting the big name players when they are either at their peak or just past it. It doesn’t allow them to buy players who will take a while to develop. A big name is always going to be wanted, especially with Man City being able to buy them. For what it’s worth, I’ve heard rumours that even before he sold us, that Ashley does not have a good relationship with his parents. I honestly think he would have been back in the MLS in January had a bid came in. The MLS teams will have been wanting to shift players and been massively affected by European clubs effectively closing up shop.

Some people want to be in Europe regardless, others don’t. In all honesty though I think those who do want to be in it outweigh those who don’t. Everyone was gutted that we didn’t win today and know that it makes it harder for us to get into Europe. This season has been difficult, and getting into Europe would be seen as a prize for getting through it.

I’m struggling to see us do it now, I think that’s it. Ok it’s in our hands, if we win our next 2 games we’ll finish above Man Utd, and quite possible ahead of Chelsea unless they can claw out 2 big wins.
