    St James' Park

Sunderland’s is still in the city centre, it’s probably closer to their main shopping street than SJP is to Northumberland Street.
  2. BeIN Jacobs must have creamed himself with this one.
  3. I’m not being funny but the Glazers first bought a share in 2003, then bought the club in 2005. You can’t expect for the balance of a loan at £650m to be still at that level 21 years later. To put it into perspective Arsenal spent the same on their stadium a year later and have paid that off. How long do you want to pay it off? It’s already been 21 years. Alongside that though it is a valid question why high levels of debt is classed as fair game, but ownership investment isn’t?

Second season syndrome is a thing though. I’m not saying they will go down, like you I think there are weaker teams coming up who will go down, but I still think they will have a massive drop off, especially with having play European football.

Yeah. A lot of teams if they survived went down the following season. The reason being that the novelty and the siege mentality went a bit. The crowd had already seen the big teams play and didn’t turn up as much, both literally and vocally. For example when Sheffield United last came up they finished 9th, 1 point ahead of Sunderland have, but went down the following season finishing bottom with only 24 points. To a lesser extent Leeds when they came up the first time around finished 9th on 59 points. The following season they only survived with a final day win. I also don’t get this argument that they will kick on. Their owner, although his family is wealthy, isn’t that wealthy himself, having access to about £1bn, with funds invested in other projects as well. We have also seen how even if you do have the funds, you can’t access them. At the very best they will be shopping in the same market as the likes of Bournemouth, Brentford, and Brighton, with the aim of selling players on like them. All 3 of those clubs can claim to be more established Premier League clubs, with both Bournemouth and Brighton also being able to offer some format of European football. There are already rumours about a few of their key players leaving despite European football. Every club wants to kick on, but doing it is hard. Let’s look at Crystal Palace who won a trophy last season, still had to sell a couple of key players who were in demand, have got to a European final, but their league form is still stagnant, and they once again will sell key players in the summer with their manager leaving because they can’t match his ambition.

    Harvey Barnes

Because the club probably feel like with £38m we can get someone in from Europe who is younger and has a higher potential ceiling. If we are selling Gordon, then we probably have a list of about 6-10 players, now we can pick 2 of them.

I wouldn’t want to sell him, but if the club feels that with the money we can get someone younger who’s just as good, then go for it.
  8. Turki Alalshikh is going through the EFL owners and directors test so he can buy a stake in Derby County. The Derby County owner is prepared to sell up to 80%.

We have a plant in Sunderland as well as North Tyneside with our companies HQ in Team Valley (after recently moving from Prudhoe). So a few of them are Sunderland fans. One of them you wouldn’t know was a football when they were in League One, as soon as they got promoted he got one of those mini scarfs that stick to the back window of cars to stick on the front of his windscreen of his wagon. When told that you were not allowed to have anything like that on your window or those novelty number plates etc, he conveniently got himself a Sunderland woolly hat and put that in the window instead. No Newcastle fan in the works group chat has ever brought up football, even when we beat them in the derby. Guess who’s all over the group chat now and having a pop at us?
  10. Yeah. Man City are us just 10 years earlier. If only Ashley hadn’t had fucked off their owners eh?
  11. Not a chance that isn’t liposuction. Not even the jabs would make you lose weight that fast, and he only started in March when he took ill.
  12. Alright, I’ll put it another way. For the last 2 years we’ve had a 39 year old keeper on our books who’s last bit of action was in the Birmingham City team that got relegated to League One despite the club having 4 other keepers. All because he’s a great guy to have around. Matt Ritchie’s grandchildren will never know what a 9-5 is because we kept giving him another year’s contract because he was good to have around. For the record both him and Dummett would have stayed had we qualified for Europe the season the eventually did leave. Fabian Schar has been offered another contract for next season despite it being obvious that the rigours of this league has caught up to him and passed him by.
  13. Not a fucking chance. He’s not walking until someone like Liverpool come in for him. He’s brought his mates on the back room staff and his nephew on the transfer committee, he’s not giving it up.

    Joe Willock

Hopefully never to be seen again. He’s not been arsed since we got took over.
  15. This here. It’s not just a 1 off either, last season they got to the Quarter finals of the Champions League and only lost out to qualifying for it again over us by a controversial decision. The season before they got to the semi’s of the Conference League but qualified for the Champions League. To top it off, they have had to sell a big player every summer.
  16. After we went out of the Champions League we had 8 games left, Sunderland, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth, Arsenal, Brighton, Nottingham Forest, West Ham, and Fulham. After the Sunderland game we had a week between games, we had a 3 break between Sunderland and Crystal Palace. We won 2 of those games, 1 of them was against a team who got relegated. He can’t get them up for games anymore. All season we have had an issue where against the big boys our players turned up, against the lesser opposition we have folded. He’s done fuck all to change that, I don’t even think he recognises it.
  17. If anything, those Sky 6 loving cunts will give Spurs a few more goals.
  18. Get him out man. The teams ahead of us going for Europe, he’s let what was an average Championship side last season leapfrog him into those places by his own fucking arrogance. You’re deluded if you think he’s turning it around, he’s had all season to do it.
  19. Yeah. Honestly it feels like from now on we are waiting for a run of poor form to sack him next season. Just get it over and done with in the summer. Time for us to all move on.
  20. He’s never ever picked on form. It’s always been his favourites.
  21. Fucking Europa League as it stands.
  22. I can honestly see us keeping him just to not unsettle the squad too much.
  23. Same problem with Sky go, absolute disgrace.
