  1. Match against Birmingham tomorrow has been postponed. Gateshead move turning out well.

How will they be like Everton’s or West Ham’s? West Han had owners who were happy to take an athletics stadium in place of a football stadium so long as they got it on the cheap. Everton's stadium when it was planned was designed not to take on the elite clubs, but to make Everton the best of the feast in terms of attendance, and revenue, and get the away from a stadium that they couldn’t feasibly expand and had features such as wooden seats, and support columns in front of seats.
  3. Georgia Stanway (Newcastle fan) is leaving Bayern Munich in the summer. If we get promoted we should go all out to get her.

What they want is so that the new houses are not built too close to the stadium so that it can’t be expanded in future. It doesn’t mean that they are actively looking at it. We would have done the same with the Strawberry land if Ashley wasn’t a cunt of a owner.

Other than the Mackems thinking promotion automatically means their owner is going to do this and it being picked up by Facebook football groups (the main one of which has a mackem admin) what makes you think this? Other than the odd game where they have tried to break the league record for attendance, and when we came to town, they haven’t regularly sold out until this season. It’s also worth noting that their ticket prices are currently still fairly cheap compared to other Premier League clubs, and a lot of people have already pointed out that in their recent home games, there has been large gaps starting to be noticeable in the crowds. They need to sustain higher crowds, and for those price increases, in addition to having a period of Premier League security before a stadium expansion starts becoming viable for them.

Anyone investing in Premier League football, including PIF’s initial investment, will be banking on the TV distribution rights deals changing. In the next 10-15 years every Premier League club will be worth billions, I can easily see us being worth something like £8bn-£10bn. I doubt paying £2bn fo a new stadium will be a barrier long term, especially if as expected, the club is to finance about half of that figure. We also have to remember that the people who own 15% of the club, and approximately a quarter of the city’s landmass are some of the biggest property developers in the country. They themselves will be looking to see how their various companies will be able to make money on the stadium project. Despite is not having a blank chequebook and being an investment, I still think a new state of the art stadium is realistic, especially if it is to be a multi-purpose venue.

This is it. If the former brewery site was still sitting empty when the takeover was completed, then we’d probably be looking at either our final or penultimate season at SJP right now. It’s not though, and unless you are happy playing at Team Valley, Seaton Burn, Kingston Park, or Silverlink, then it’s not going to quick and easy to build and move into a new stadium. I get the frustration, but would you be happy rushing it and getting a stadium like Everton’s or Arsenals? Or would you rather wait a year or so and get the best possible stadium we can and not be prevented from doing so by Dotty and her friends?

It’s took 10 years to get this far. They are still years away from competing it.

You do realise that it’s taken about 10 years for Crystal Palace to get this far and the plans have been watered down since the initial announcement don’t you?
  10. Not that surprising considering his LEGO head has 4 pretty sharp corners.
  11. What a fucking shit game.
  12. Really? I don’t think so to be honest.

Do you honestly think Birmingham are going to build that stadium?

Still £70m for us, they’ll probably give him to Liverpool for free. Also, no chance he signs for us, he’s 3 months away from being able to sign from any club in the world on a free, and can now sign for anyone outside of England on a free.
  15. Nothing about him was professional. From the penalty decision, the stopping the play when we were attacking for his ear piece, to his lack of control over the game which resulted in Schärs injury. The club should be making an official complaint about him. Even for our shit referee’s, he was so far off the standard.
  16. Apparently Barnes’ winner is the latest ever in the Premier League.
  17. Some of their fans will be home sooner than some of our fan heading into Northumberland.
  18. Today was alway going to be hard. They have had some tough fixtures and got something out of all of them. The referee did not help. No chance they’ll go down if they keep playing like that though.
  19. No control at all, we still looked like we could give up an equaliser for 4-4. I’ll take the win though.
  20. I honestly think we deserved it as well. We had a goal ruled out softly, we had a shocking penalty given against us. We got a major injury to one of our key defenders because the referee let them do what they wanted.
