I actually like Sheffield Wednesday. I think they are the last of Englands sleeping giants requiring a takeover to reach their potential. In fact I’m in Doncaster to see family between Christmas and New Year and I’m considering going to one of their games. I totally get that they just want their club to survive, and Ashley might be the only person who can save them now. Long term though we all know that’s not how Ashley rolls. The myths all still exist, like how he apparently saved us from financial ruin, despite it being his arrival which resulted in the loans being called in. The whole he left us in a better position myth as well, completely forgetting the fact that our commercial revenue was below that of what we had when he first arrived, with a stadium falling to bits, and a training ground not fit for purpose. When he did go, it took a financier 4 years of negotiations, and then later court cases to get him to release us from his greasy mitts. A financier who brokered the Man City takeover, and saved Barclays Bank during the economic down. We all know how this ends, and it not with Sheffield Wednesday becoming a Premier League team or even Championship with either the ground improvements or new stadium that they need to get there. Rangers fans know it as well, and Coventry got a taste of it after being in a similar position. His release of their stadium is actually rumoured to be part of his plan to buy Sheffield Wednesday. I don’t wish him on Sheffield Wednesday, but I’m massively intrigued to see it all unfold again.

I’m going to guess Ashley’s aim with us wasn’t to get relegated in his first full season as our owner and to turn into a yo-yo club. His penny pinching, his inability to employ anyone qualified to run a football club, and ultimately his greed turned us into one. He’s about to buy a club who are about to get a 15 point penalty next season so he could save up to £10m, but will probably be far less. This will result in them having to a flawless season next season, or a very very good one to make the play offs. This is despite a few years ago Sheffield Wednesday being 1 of 3 teams to achieve over 90 points across the season. It will make promotion at the first attempt almost impossible. On top of this in order to have a team that can compete in the Championship or Premier League, they need a whole new stadium. This alone will cost more than the £330m he picked up from selling us. They also need a new training ground and academy, with those facilities also said to be way behind where they should be. Honestly if he is running the club for himself the best guy he could bring in is fucking Charnley, and he was a fucking mess focus. The best hope Sheffield Wednesday fans have is if his son-in-law who now runs SD decides to run it. He might just have an ego big enough to make it a success. I look forward to Sheffield Wednesday gaining Castor as their shirt manufacturer, confirming that Ashley is the unknown financial backer of the brand, SD/Frasers being stamped all over Hillsborough, and Sheffield Wednesday fans receiving giant SD mugs with their online purchases of club merchandise. I’m not even sure if there is a big enough cunt left alive for Ashley to bring in as manager.

It’s a massive shame, but Bedlington I think is just too close to both Blyth which has 2 teams, Ashington, and Morpeth to make it work.
-
It needs a rebuild. I think at least 2 stands are below required levels and they have had to play at a reduced capacity since our cup game against them a few years ago in the grounds of safety. If you go on their forum, the majority of them admit that they probably need to move out into a new stadium.

The creditors have to receive so much of a percentage of their debt to avoid the penalty. A bid below £30m means they will fall short of receiving that. The main creditor is the former owner.

Yeah.

Celtic manger is apparently on the brink of being sacked, he’s only been there 2 weeks.
-
1 of the final 3 bidders for Sheffield Wednesday.

Just needs to fuck off now. He’s not arsed, his attitude is all wrong. He doesn’t want to be here.
-
The problem he faces with me is that everything is so blatant, it’s so obvious. Today went like pretty much every away game this season. No ability to break a team down, set pieces are a fucking joke, and once we go a goal down the game is over. The same players who are not performing bad haven’t been for a while etc. Subs that do fuck all in the grand scheme of things and are often made when the match has been lost etc.
-
We’ve lost them all.
-
This is it.
-
No chance of us breaking them down here.
-
Gordon on that incident as well. Either of them go do it and we win the ball in a dangerous position.
-
Yeah we have, however they are increasingly going in harder and losing their rag with their tackles.
-
You could tell within the 1st couple of minutes that Gordon wasn’t going to be on it today. Livramento and Elanga to play strangles only to not move the ball forward is frustrating, their LB looks a liability.
-
They spent 2 minutes wasting time in stoppage time and he blows 11 seconds over the allocated 4 minutes when we had a freekick.
-
Fuck off referee man, you fucking cunt.
-
Joelinton has been poor in this match.
-
Been on the back foot since the equaliser.
-
What the fuck Gordon?
-
Holy shit, an olimpico goal.

An hour and a half ago.
