Bibs would be fucking pissed if we ended up playing a few games at Murrayfield. We would have to alternate with Hearts because Murrayfield is across the road from Tynecastle. So then if you’re in Edinburgh, and Newcastle are in town, or you could go and see Hibs, where the fuck are you going?
-
I’d say it’s up to the fans and the citizens of Newcastle, and Tyneside to be doing all they can to put in letters of support, even sharing an online petition in support.
-
This, and the majority of the rest of the stadium will only be 20-30 years behind it.
-
Fans are allowed their view, but the ‘I’ve got my season ticket and I’ll not move despite it keeping others out, and holding the club back’ is allowed to be called out for what it is.
-
Yeah, quite possibly. I have always said that I think we are 6-10 years away from a new stadium. We are still probably 3 years away from spades on the ground.
-
I’d be 41/42, assuming there are no delays.
-
Yeah, and also add in chants of ‘1 Michael Oliver’, and ‘Saka come join us’ as well.
-
Yeah, ai’d accept 70k to be honest, but just under just seems like they should have just added an extra row around it.
-
It looks worse though. Internally Spurs stadium looks much better. Everton’s just looks like a German stadium that uses bleachers.
-
I’d be dissapointed if we fall short of a 70k capacity. The location is fair with me, although so have concerns over the bandstand terrace of Leazes Park. The rest of it comes down to details really, what exactly it will offer, and what it will look like. I think whatever what it is, it will likely be a lot more acceptable to a Gallowgate extension that still leaves the rest of the stadium with a lot to be desired about.

I don’t care what team you are, and who you are against, but if you were 2-0 down from the first leg, going away from home in the 2nd leg, you can’t be massively confident of over turning it, that’s without acknowledging that the last 2 times you played that team away from home they got beat. The betting and the stats show that it’s difficult position, hence why we are the bookies favourite to progress, and why so far (touch wood) no team has overcame that deficit before. I’m not saying I’m massively confident myself, however I’d much rather be in our position than theirs, and we argued before the 1st leg that taking a 1-0 deficit for us back home, would still give us a possibility of advancing. All in all I don’t think the pressure from the fans is on the squad this time, nor will it be in the squad. Last time as soon as we got Leicester in the quarter finals, everyone seemed to jump up and think we would/could go on and win it. We went to Wembley, some people paying £2,500 for corporate tickets, others paying £1,000 off people selling their match tickets. A big thing about taking over London etc. The squad had those letters and everything else all put on them. We were up against an average to poor Man Utd team etc. As soon as we got Arsenal in the semi’s most people were preparing themselves for us going out. If we make it to the final then we’ll play against either Liverpool who we never seem to beat, or Spurs who we should beat, but it would be so typical that they got their ‘elusive trophy’ against us. I don’t think many people will be prepared to pay such fortunes for tickets like the last time. I doubt we are going to have every pub and shop window on Tyneside with the trophy painted on the window etc. I think the atmosphere will be a lot more reserved, it will probably be of an expectation to lose, with just a reserved hope that we win. I think tomorrow will be the same, many people will be expecting them to somehow fuck it up, to mentally prepare themselves, but hoping that we don’t fuck it up. Sunderland did similar when they got to their finals at Wembley the first time around. They hyped up getting there for the Pizza Cup and Play off final, and fucked it up. A couple of years later they didn’t hype it up as much, and they won both times.

He goes off it about Covid though, thinking the world shouldn’t have stopped and without saying it, we should have just carried on as normal and let people die.
-
Yeah they will. I fully expect the narrative that Oliver is a Newcastle fan to ramp up on the next few days as well. They are a dirty club, and the way they are acting over Haalands’s stay humble comment after yesterday is just showing it. I do think though that they could possibly get frustrated if we keep them out long enough, and end up losing their cool.

It will be Longstaff if Joelinton isn’t fit enough to play.
-
He literally says that as his first sentence.

People seem to be following Peters view that it’s a legit plan for a SJP rebuild, rather than outlining why it can’t be done.
-
Let’s say Arsenal go a goal up, and we make it 1-1. Our crowd will be up for it because it puts us in a strong position. Even if we go 1-0 up, the crowd will be up for it.

This image if it is to be in the readability study is not showing the footprint of an extended SJP, it is showing why we can’t extend SJP. First of all it is showing level 7 all the way around the stadium, which we know doesn’t have the space for a modern stadiums amenities. Secondly it is showing where we would have to knock down 2 listed rows of terraced housing. The yellow shaded area is showing what is a legal right of way which would have to be taken away. Thirdly, it is showing how it would go over the path for the Metro if there was to be an extension. A lot of clever people actually think the dashed line represents where the tunnel goes now for the Metro turn around. Finally, the blue line is showing the emergency vehicle and general vehicle route access to the RVI, meaning a Gallowgate extension would still need a tunnel under it. This would again limit concourse space, and would make the layout for Shearers Bar, and the Club store very weird, and would potentially push both of them onto the Stack site. This would be poor form particularly for Shearer’s, as it would then no longer be able to show home 3pm KO’s, as it wouldn’t be in the same location as the event is taking place.

Trouble is, as soon as clubs and agents know that we are interested, they will be pushing them to the other big clubs as well. ’Look, Newcastle want him, if they want him then he must be good’. Bournemouth, Brighton, and Brentford coming in for players is different, they won’t have the likes of Man City looking at them as well.
-
Nah. I think if we score at any point then the tie will be dead.
-
We can certainly put in performance against these. They will have to be fairly open in the game as well, which should give us some chances.
-
Are we on TV today?
-
They won’t get past season ticket holders mate.

The club have made a bit of an issue about last week being the deadline to sign up to be a Mags+ member for this season. With games running out, many would think that they are going to announce a product that can only be bought by Mag+ members or have a period of exclusivity to buy it. I do wonder though if they are going to only consult season ticket holders and Mag+ members in regards to the stadium?
