Awaiting naming rights for it though ... It'll be TIM or Vodafone or some shit. Mobile operators own every Euro in Italy, or near enough.

They absolutely raped him.

tempted but worried it'll be like freakonomics, review needed, ie buy it then tell me. It's on the Zonal Marking reading list so I had a look at it, but having read a few reviews I decided against it. Sounds pretty half-baked. Edit: no it isn't. Must have been one of the "People who bought this also bought..." books that caused me to click through.

Haven't found it yet.

Not worthy of a thread - 2018 FIFA World Cup edition
LucaAltieri replied to OzzieMandias's topic in Football
every major FA is as corrupt as FIFA or just plain incompetent. The entire structure of football is corrupt beyond redemption and needs to be removed. Slightly off topic, but the fa needs to seriously increase spending/development on grass-roots football and also the fact that artificial pitches are banned is a joke, hampers the teams with hardly any money/non-league teams who cannot afford to re lay the pitch but when the weather is shit in the winter, the artificial pitch is still playable so it has it's advantages. Agreed. I've been playing on artificial pitches since coming to the States. Nowt wrong with them at all. -
Which was worse, our relegation side or the current mackems?

Apart from the small problem of them not really winning games. The majority of the games where they have picked up points they've looked very fortunate to do so. I'm not writing them off because they're too far adrift, I'm writing them off because they've got nothing in tank. Didn't think that needed explaining, like.
-
Every logical part of me has been saying they're gone for weeks. However, they've fluked so many points against the likes of Everton and City that there's going to be that nagging doubt until it's mathematically certain. Still, logic telling me they're toast.

Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere but thought it was interesting: http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/458392/Tottenham-hero-David-Ginola-I-can-work-my-magic-on-Andros-Townsend He's untested. Would you want him here working with Hatem?

Porter is a good coach, with a good track record, and gets his teams playing attacking football. Even as a Sounder it's hard not like the Timbers. Still hoping they crash and burn.

The numbers don't lie, gentlemen.

Do you think Shola will be offered a new playing contract at NUFC?

Model professional, Nigerian international, Champions League experience, cheap, hard to pass up... -
Can't pick between Chelsea and Arsenal. Pretty sure Liverpool and City will bottle it.

The Timbers had a good shout last year. Easily one of the best teams. I thought they'd destroy RSL and go into the MLS Cup final. I'm not sure how their trades went in the off-season/if they retained the core of the team but I think Zakuani is a massive waste of money. I hope they don't end up relying on him.

Also played the loan market really well and signed a few players who ensured promotion. The emergence of Andy Carroll also helped obviously. Harewood, Van Aarnholt, Kizanishvili, Hall in on loan plus Best and Routledge, combined with what we kept, pissed the league. Mostly this. We were in a position to gamble on a few kids. The biggest beneficiaries of that being Carroll and Danny Simpson. Had we stayed up the likelihood of either getting games time on a regular basis goes down. With Carroll in particular that let him push on and be sold to ultimately finance our transfer dealings for a year. If we went down again it would almost certainly mean more game time for the likes of Sammy Ameobi, Vuckic, Tav, etc. The extra experience might help one of them turn into something useful, and will definitely increase their re-sale value of an otherwise worthless assets.

Leeds situation was unique, in as much as the players Ridsdale brought in were 'leased' and not owned by the club IIRC. They've never recovered from that. Look, I'd rather we didn't go down, but we have too many s*** players on ridiculous wages, and getting relegated would be the ideal opportunity to offload them and start again, as Newcastle found out not too long ago. You should be begging for it, tbh.

Rumours of Cambiasso moving to MLS. Another fucking 33 year old.

I have full faith in Pulis. The mackems will be gone with games to spare.

was that meant to be read out in an Obi-wan type voice ? Preferably.

Mackem on Facebook at it again. "Spurs are playing like Sunderland at the moment. Great football until they get in the box." the delusion is strong in this one.
