It's fairly obvious what's happened here. Danny Murphy (or someone he is responsible for) has fucked up. Ashworth appointed Danny Murphy so is naturally receiving some of the stick. How far do you go though, do you start pointing the finger at Staveley and Reuben for going after Ashworth?

Wanted us to do this forever now. Ashley's policy of no signings over a certain age was crazy, given some of the smart transfers we've seen over the last 15/20 years (Milner, Thiago Silva, Lallana, Ashley Young esque deals)

I do think it's a bit weird that we went to Man Utd with that starting 11, played as well as we did and then haven't used that setup again.

I just think you've got to accept that you're going to have to play lesser skilled players from time to time in order to keep your better players fresh. How Lewis Hall has played so little is beyond me. Ritchie is there too, people are talking about experience on the pitch, he's up there in that regard.

I wouldn't have played Trippier Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday etc Same with Gordon, who basically had no pre-season. Guy needed a rest at the start of December and here he is playing another 97 minutes in probably the highest intensity position on the pitch.

I hope it's just shit luck and we did have other plans that we weren't able to enact due to the severe injury situation. Otherwise we're toast. Basically what Ponsaelius said above.
