Agree with most of what you've wrote but the bit in bold - I would love to see a system whereby players under a certain age, say 21 for example are not allowed to move clubs. Instead when they sign a pro contract at 17 they are locked to that club with a few caveats like no relegation, no administration etc. Also players under the age of 17 should not be allowed to sign for a club outside of their region. We'd be competing with Sunderland and Boro for example. London and the North West would be like the wild west for scouts, if it isn't already. You'd have some absolute superstars at some very mediocre clubs either elevating them or commanding a canny transfer fee. Could even have some sort of draft for those that choose to walk away from their parent club with a system that sets fees to ensure none of the elite kids slip through the net and no club is truly shafted.

Hang on, you're getting irate over a fabricated scenario here. There is little to suggest the club were simply waiting for Bruno's clause to be activated. All soundbites from within the club were around Bruno staying iirc. I know they had no control over it but I think it's incredibly far-fetched to believe that the club chanced their arm like that. PSR is clearly not an easy thing to navigate, hence the points deductions elsewhere and several clubs seemingly running very close to the wire. I reckon it's nowhere near as black and white as you are making it out to be, however I don't think people like us will ever truly understand the inner workings of any PL clubs finances, so there's little point debating it, we've just got to trust the people in charge (I'd wager they're far more qualified than most of us will ever be anyway)

It's nearly 3 years since PIF took over and I can't believe we don't have swathes of class academy grads just ready to replace our injured first teamers.
