I hadn't considered the effect the other way, teams being able to properly push to get in and then attempt to sustain life in the PL with minimal risk. I was always under the impression that owners like Khan, Parrish etc just didn't want to use their personal finance to fund anything more than mid table mediocrity, I hadn't considered the threat of those with ambition below them. I can't believe it's still just the same relatively small group banging on about the injustice of it all.

It's absolutely scandalous that Villa and ourselves are in this position. I can't believe there aren't more clubs backing us.

Oh here it goes, here it goes, here it goes again

I wasn't insinuating anything

Of course loads of people think they know more than the expert, just as loads of us think we could do a better job than the football managers, coaches, referees etc We'll never know, so what's the point in anyone getting their knickers in a twist over it?
-
Is it not also a case making sure we don't undersell ourselves? If we accept whatever we can get right now it may set a precedent for future deals which could result in a much lower income. If we ourselves treat the positions such as 'training ground sponsor' as lucrative then surely we'll be far more likely to attract a lucrative sponsor further down the line. If we for example start accepting any old bollocks for pennies then that's what we'll be seen to value the sponsorship as ourselves. Right?

Cue Look North interviewing Tony "Newcastle United" Armstrong who moved house to ensure a seat at SJP to cheer on the lads

If I have to pay the same per game as someone who became a "fan" in 2022 I will tut my lips off.

My dad is turning 65 just as the scheme is coming to an end, the lucky sod.

Love the way McCoist pronounces Haaland

I think the issue is that someone thinks he's worth considerably more than £50 million

AG was shite at the start of the season and will finish with more goal contributions, a higher league placing after 38 games and a League Cup to his name. Maybe not the last one.

Remember Rafa's assistant going ballistic with an iPad trying to show the referee the rules
-
Trust me, he's not, Barca are better off going for someone like Wissa
-
We signed him for 45 million and he's become a much better player since then, so there's your starting point.
-
A goal involvement for an attacking midfielder every 206 minutes and £50m is "not even close to enough" Not saying he's a bad player or he doesn't have potential, but every time I see him he looks very average.
-
Every time I see Marc Cucurella play he's playing as an AM. When the fuck did he stop being a left back?
-
Only way we accept that is if it includes a huge (for Lloyd Kelly) mandatory fee in the summer.

No chance Owld Jim is letting you plug all those holes any time soon

It would represent a fairly sizeable failure from whoever is tasked with selling our players.
