Bayer Leverkusen 2-2 Newcastle United (10/12/25) | post-match from pg. 61

Just awful defending, so easy for them -
It's possible that he's so mentally weak that a bad start to the season just continues to eat away at him. Add the physical stress of getting up to speed, tactical work (as we know that itself is very difficult mid season when you're in Europe) and little niggly injuries compounding his overall morale.

I like that it's just a pure 'no-frills' straight knockout where anything can happen. In the scenario you describe above you'd end up with just the top teams left in the comp in the 4th round, maybe one or two lower sides sneaking through. When lots of PL clubs play each other it opens the door for a smaller club to reach the semi's or even the final.

I thought that about one of our goals at Ipswich last season. Absolute gift from them.

Remember watching that Agbadou at SJP in one of his first games for them and immediately thought he was absolutely bollocks

Newcastle United 2-1 Burnley (06/12/25) | Post-Match From Pg. 27

Should be a red, shouldn't it? -
They didn't exactly sign nobodies though, they brought in ex Atletico, PSG and Arsenal players alongside some decent young players with a shit load of potential. Very good summer that they will struggle to replicate, if needs be.

Good god almighty

Hadn't thought about it but yeah, it's a strange one for sure. Then you've got Sunderland...

So you're not allowed to call out a player who consistently offers nothing, a player we seemingly spent a chunk of time, effort and money on? We're all massively disappointed with what we've seen so far, anyone who says otherwise is lying to themselves. When you see a 50/60 million pound signing struggle with basic 4/5 yard passes week in week out it's difficult to hold your tongue, particularly on nights like last night. It wasn't his fault that we drew but he added absolutely nothing when he came on. Nobody is excited when he comes off the bench.
