as I recall he was sacked post Bale being sold and the DOF having bought a load of crap to replace him
-
The diving and swanning around might be a good fit for Arsenal, but he can only ever run in straight lines and shoot, and Arsenal aren't exactly the most direct team. They might be if they had a striker who could run its wenger he's far too stubborn to change his ways. Vardy will end up on the left wing probably for most of the season and Arsenal will be Arsenal, give hints of actually doing something but fail miserably

it does strike me as a sideways move at best. But he may have got the message that a chunk of the squad might want to move on and its very easy to screw up after selling a load of players

I can go back to cheerfully despising them again which is nice

I read that as Mikel Arteta for a minute there

sure I'll join in, be an excuse to change the avatar

that performance vs Italy in WC 94 should be compulsory viewing for anyone who wants to play cb
-
can only assume he's bringing 5 strikers because he's worried (rightly) sturridge will break something during the tournament. Picking Ross Barkley seems kinda insane considering how garbage he's been

theres a shock.............I really fucking despise Mourinho
-
didn't he sign a new 4 year deal before he joined west ham?
-
in theory yes but theres a lot of decent competition tbh, derby have been in and around promotion for a few years, Brighton barely missed on an automatic spot, Norwich know what they are doing and should be pretty stable going into the season and god knows what way Villa will go. Much as it pains me to wish any good on Steve Bruce and the various family members that make up his shit team, but we're much better off them coming up in the play offs than Wednesday as it's hard not to see them being around the top 3 or 4 next year. agreed though on a non nufc related pov it would be nice to see Wednesday back up

fa cup according to wiki was west ham in 1980, league cup sheffield wednesday in 91

great he's staying, even better he has control of the football side to rebuild as he sees fit and will allegedly be backed and above all else thank fucking christ this is all sorted in a reasonably quick fashion. Not sure I could have taken another summer like we had before the previous champ season which by all fucking rights should have had us crashing and burning but by some miracle it turned out Hughton was reasonably good at managing and just keeping things calm. As for why Rafa's staying my only theory is Real Madrid drove him slightly mad because even if he wants to settle down and build a club in a Wenger or Ferguson like manner there are better fucking prospects than us.

still waiting for something to go wrong, alien invasion or world war 3 seem probable at this stage

War chest ffs been a while since I heard that. It's the worst. For some reason I dislike the term "transfer kitty" as well. dunno I like the war chest term, kitty makes it sound small

how can you trademark someone elses name

looks like a fake badge used by PES or something

ugh it was too much to hope that Mourinhio would vanish into a bottomless pit, back to fawning of him by the press and good fucking god more "Guardiola vs Mourinhio" bullshit. If some force could just remove both manchester united and city so everyone else doesn't have to put up with that bullshit that would be fantastic
-
why in gods name would you not let them play advantage, daft reffing
-
If I was them though I'd be looking at the lack of European football as an opportunity a la Leicester rather than crying about it. Could end up being exactly what they need in Klopps first full season what with his pressing style etc. I really do get your point but its still strange to say the best path to success is to not succeed first.

great for Celtic I just don't get it from Rodgers pov, yes Celtic are a big name globally and its easy silverware to pad out the cv and champions league football but the other side of it is, its a poor league at best so the value of the silverware is diminished and won't convince a Spurs (for example) that he is the man to take them onto glory and if he fails to win silverware then thats a major hit to his reputation. As for the CL having to go through the qualifiers is tough as their first game is end of july or early august and failure to progress is not the best way to start at the club.

too early to get worried tbh, if it starts to drag on from next week then I might wonder if he's dragging it out to see what other jobs are available
-
working out how much they can actually even spend overall based on championship FFP and which players have to be sold to balance the books and still give cash to Rafa to spend
