You'd assume so but Poyet has already gone on record suggesting he would walk if he didn't get control over incomings and outgoings. maybe but I'll treat this as "itk" bull until proven otherwise (what did amuse me looking on rtg one fella claiming odds dipping on Poyet being next to go had to do with him being a possible candidate for the Spurs job if AVB goes)
  2. The Hammers are desperate for a striker and Fat Sam is always looking to pick the crumbs off our table (Mobido Maiga ) but if he goes there for the money they are welcome to him. West Ham can't buy anyone else until they have sold someone. Brady confirmed this just before the close of the summer transfer window. They are currently spending the maximum allowed % of their turnover on wages. being so close to the relegation zone has a strange effect on sides near the bottom where they suddenly find £20m down the back of the couch that wasn't there in the summer for players. certainly possible he could have gotten in a huff about transfer spending since he did spend a fair whack (for the champ) at Brighton but wouldn't that have been discussed before he went including that Di Fanti would be in charge of recruitment?
  4. why not just keep both of them and have a new better cb take colo's place as he will leave sooner or later
  5. exactly what i said they've said nothing about how much is being spent, have announced the idea but aren't bothering to start for another 1.5 years plus as you say by the time they finish there'll be all sorts of other shit on the go and we'll be at the blunt end once more he's selling up man, make an announcement like that to entice buyers (safety wink) they do still have to get planning permision etc and these things don't happen overnight.

    Alan Pardew

http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/alan-pardew-good-run-traces-6360123 so basically our turnaround this season is down to...............Mike Williamson?!
  7. Not sure tbh, he jumped a division to join Arsenal (he'd been talking to them and Man Utd I think, no way was he going to stay in the Championship), plus he's been back there on loan since he left. I get that but applauding a goal against your side?
  8. inevitable effect prem sides have trouble enough dealing with the schedule let alone a championship sides and throw in wigans pathetic level of resources and with expectation of instant promotion it was always going to be next to impossible for any manager
  9. He really is a twat. if thats actually true, more than possible for someone to make that up without much difficulty or imagination Dunno like, is it possible to out-twat the reality of Joe Kinnear? the bolded ones above were already said tbh as for the rest 1 media speculation and guess-easy to attribute 2 did pardew not notice the new player at training? 3 ashley would just want the cash 5 guesswork based on previous transfer sagas

    Alan Pardew

oh god how this annoys me whatever about the cl qualifier failures they can go in no issue there but the losers from the groups (who already have a nicely sized amount of prize money in their pockets already)

also the other key difference between the CL and EL is the clubs in the CL get a hell of a lot more which enables them to have a much larger squad to cope with the fixture load compare to EL when the clubs getting into it are generally not as well resourced and theres not the finances from the thing to support a larger squad for the fixture load.

    Alan Pardew

Probably needs to shut up about it but I dare say theres many a manager who's been in it and generally agreed with his thoughts on it. Its not a terrible idea in theory but problems arise when things like the league cup or this week for example with midweek prem games come around.
  14. Hughton Allerdyce and McKay for me are the 3 favorites McKay because of the uncertainty with the owner more than how he's doing tbh
  15. I think the case of Ba is more to do with the fact he moved to a more ambitious club to sit on the bench most of the time which annoys most people and by the end everyone was sick of a year of speculation probably fueled by his "entourage" feeding the links to other clubs to the press I doubt he moved to sit on the bench, who was his competition? An out of form Torres? He should be getting more games tbh. an out of form Torres who happens to be the owners pet and has quite obviously been since he arrived
  16. dunno Arsenal seem the only side with their shit in order so far and if they got some actual cover for Giroud they could easily win it. Still think it will be City mind
  17. the only surprise is it wasn't sooner with only 1 win all season
  18. Man Utd and Arsenal aside i think its pretty favourable tbh. Southampton and Swansea are far from easy as well
  19. don't think hes a bad player but christ at £12m you'd expect better
  20. possible we went to pieces around this time that season

the key could be how Pardew handles a much improved bench, compare the bench yesterday to any from most of last season and apart from a woefully out of form Cisse there's decent options on there to change things around when necessary whether he will or not more often than he has is still debatable
