well the main two examples are PSG/World Cup with Qatar which has had a fair bit of attention and negative media and Man City with United Arab Emirates which I see far less spotlight on that countrys failings. Honestly though most of the complaints are from the likes of Bayern, Barca, Real etc complaining its not fair that someone has a money advantage over them rather than human rights etc so maybe its working?

would we not back where we were at the start of the window needing to offload deadwood to make room in the squad for more signings since the spots freed up by dummett and willems injury have been filled
-
Honestly don't know where I stand, fact is this mob are among the worst regimes in the world for human rights abuses and the fact he'd be using nufc for purely political purposes is troubling in the extreme but if Ashleys going to go I don't see who else buys it from him except one of this type cunt. So in summary fuck modern football and for the love of god introduce the 50+1 rule

I would laugh my ass off if that came to pass since that would be the one thing that would fail that pathetic test, oh human rights who cares but dare to pirate our content we won't stand for that unforgivable crime
-
well they are kinda brainwashed, absolute dictatorships control the media and employs heavy censorship and in saudi arabias case arrest people who dare criticise the regime or how things are run Russia/Chelsea? Abramovich isn't literally the russian goverment so the comparison falls apart there though he has had strong links with it obviously no, not "literally" but it is very naive to suggest that the government didn't help him gain that wealth, or help hide how he got it. not disagreeing but he was hardly alone in that fact. Hell iirc it was speculated part of the reason he bought Chelsea was to have somewhere reasonably safe to get away to if Putin turned against him

he definitely was, problems renewing his visa or something. Think he was going to get Isreali citizenship to get around that problem

or lee ryder linking us with mbappe neymar etc and 5 reasons why they'v be good signings and 10 things you didn't know about them etc etc

no more than City or PSG in theory

it would be lovely for it to modernize but theres 0 incentive and every reason for the mob running the place not to modernize because if it did they'd be kicked out in 5 seconds. The sole reason for buying a football club is sportswashing, trying to distract from the horrific human rights abuses
-
various human rights abuses from lgbt rights (or the lack thereof) to womens rights (or the lack thereof), murder and dismemberment of a journalist inside their embassy in turkey and pretending oh we had nothing to do with that, bombing campaigns in yemen and in general being dicks on a whole other level than the kind of dickery you'd expect out of Ashley.

at least its faster than usual

maybe but the fact it came out after two transfers in (albeit loans) so the usual logic of "fakeover" doesn't really apply (though personally I always found that line of thinking stupid)
-
hardly the problematic part of this group
-
all we can do is wait and see if it happens it happens, if it doesn't well personally I'm not going to be too upset at not having links with the fucking saudi arabian goverment

while he's certainly not wrong why is it football getting singled out when similar things can be said about every sport and a fair few to a much greater extent than football is dependent on sponsorship from bookies, hell some sports arguably wouldn't exist without gambling (looking at you horse racing)

assume he's been told its all complete bar formalities

a good point I heard raised is the share value of man utd has gone up by a third in a few months so his job is probably completely safe as far as the Glazers are concerned
-
I struggle to give half a fuck about ffp in its current guise, I might give more of a shit about it if there was very string wage/transfer caps that were relatively equal ensuring a fair contest but as it is the rich get richer and fuck everybody who might dare challenge their lofty perch

In fairness he seems worth a lowball bid given there is very little other interest. Leeds offered 3m up front or something daft and no one else is bidding. We have Gayle which Bruce fairly seems to rate as he offers something different and is a natural poacher. Get him up and running - but if we can make a straight swap - Gayle out and Bowen in - it will be fine for me. From what i have seen, he looks alright and is only 23. Gayle's injured again, no chance we are offloading him. I think the club's dreams of realising £10m+ for Gayle are more or less done now. He's missing large chunks of almost every season he's played due to injury problems. Seems like even champo clubs are running scared now. what kind of wages is he on? must be decent enough considering he dropped a division to join us and that might be scaring off clubs as well
-
dunno you'd think some game time against oxford might not be a bad idea, presumably he's been keeping fit etc.

A better player in an area we're piss awful in. Are we though? all the player who play there can hold their own. would much rather we got a wing-back or a striker. we could do with an upgrade fact is even in the championship we were awful at keeping the ball
-
from what I remember he was a decent enough player for spurs
