  1. The theory of ffp is fine the reality is its designed to prevent the old money of europe bring knocked off their perch. I increasingly hate the champions league as all over Europe especially in smaller leagues it warps the league as how can you compete fairly with the kind of cash they get
  2. UEFA playing a dangerous game with this City will throw as much money as necessary through as many courts as it takes to fight this and if UEFA lose it basically discredits ffp as a thing
  3. did they not get those two sentances backwards
  4. I never understood the logic behind the original change to begin with all it seemed designed to do is raise prices as clubs have much less time to sort transfers post a world cup/euros etc
  5. or he could have just been there to watch a game without having to pay
  6. it helps that new white hart lane is basically where the old one was and was designed from the start for football, the olympic stadium is a hybrid athletic's stadium/converted to football stadium that Gold and Sullivan jumped on because it was a very cheap way of getting a 60k stadium and be able to sell off Upton Park for a decent chunk of cash
  7. difference is I suppose Gold and Sullivan sold west hams home and moved to the soulless olympic stadium with the promise of champions league competing for trophys etc and where are they?
  8. reasonable point actually considering the Saudis are pirating the network he works for as well
  9. yeah I honestly think thats a stupid idea
  10. private individual compared to the literal saudi state as reports on this indicate
  11. with these things the sad thing is no news atm is good news I'd be a lot more skeptical if we were seeing somebody mouthing off about who they'll sign etc etc, not great for us waiting to see something happen but thats life
  12. just a perfectly sensible move for all parties, we need a left back to cover our injuries there, spurs want him off the payroll and he needs to play to get into the euros squad.
  13. without derailing it back into a morality debate ashley is a saint in comparison to the Saudi goverment so it is a reasonable position to take imho
  14. ah randomly checking flights its never a takeover saga without it
  15. its daniel levy even if rose was on full strike he'd still look for 50m and be shocked when no one pays it
  16. don't think he'd leave london if he's staying in england tbh
  17. full stadium looks better than one with gaps to potential buyers?
  18. Why do the media make more of the Saudis humanitarian record when they're buying us but all the clubs that are owned by the Russians or the Chinese get hardly any bother at all? They're worse than the Saudi in the humanitarian world rankings... not by much, but certainly worse none-the-less. you really think the guardian of all papers was going to overlook the Saudis humanitarian record? everyone else seems not to be making too much of it beyond mentioning it
  19. on paper this is a very good signing and hell if he can return to his best form arguably an upgrade on Willems
  20. If Saudi media isn't reporting anything it might suggest that leaks are water-tight at their end. As we all suspect know anyway. do you really think their media would report anything without the governments say so
  21. Does this really work? ‘Shush man, Newcastle are 2nd in the league’. not alone but as part of a broader sportswashing strategy with other sporting events they've been hosting over there like boxing, golf and the Spanish Super Cup
  22. thats not an unreasonable point considering ffp was brought in pretty much to try and stop a repeat of a man city/psg and anything else that might threaten the current big clubs lofty perch
  23. good old bread and circuses
  24. Did it say how much he was sold for? Was around £16-17m. Bargain. not so much when its essentially £16-17m for 6 months since they could have gotten him for free in the summer
