The highlight of a footballing lifetime for an entire generation of Sunderland fans and, unsurprisingly, it didn't involve Sunderland. I'd say avoiding relegation on the last day despite losing and having to rely on other results "involved" us. You weren't celebrating staying up man, it would have taken a mathematical miracle for you to have gone down. You were celebrating a loss and a dreadful end to your season because, hey, at least the mags went down. That was your equivalent of us playing 100 games in Europe, beating Barca, tonking Man U 5-0 and beating our local rivals 5-1 all rolled into one. It would have took a Hull win and Newcastle win,hardly a "mathematical miracle". A Hull win against Man U. Wasn't there some kind of goal difference involved as well? Not sure and if their was then it wasn't massive, because I can definetely remember being very worried that it was us who were going to go down. It wasn't until our game was over until your place erupted as it did, your game finished a couple minutes earlier and Hull had been beaten so your safety was secure but the celebrations were put on ice until our game was over.

Funniest thing is that we've only got so much money for him by selling him in January and he's not even going to be available til the end of the next transfer window; we'd of been lucky to get half what he's went for if we waited til the summer after he's missed 6 months.
