Would anyone have him back here on loan for the rest of the season? Especially considering our lack of options...

Yay. Let's play 'guess the s*** player with a disproportionately impressive trophy haul'. * UEFA Champions League winner: 2004–05 * FA Cup winner: 2006 * Football League Cup winner: 2003 * Football League Cup runner up: 2005 * FIFA Club World Championship runner up: 2005 * FA Charity Shield winner: 2001 * FA Community Shield runner up: 2002 * Coupe de France runner up: 2010 Djimi Traore. Edit: Fuck, far too slow.

One that hasn't been mentioned, Hull at home after Keegan walked. Such a horrible atmosphere around the city that day.
-
Only just switched over but getting all the praise from Sky?
-
wrong club dude Whoosh..

Nah, looks like they will be getting a Champs League place this season so i'd imagine they wont require him and will spend on some top top talent. Champs League? You do realise he's at Villa now and not City?

Was that the Cardiff semi? Strangely I've opposite feelings, I was only 13/14 at the time, it was like you my first game away. Can't remember much of the match but can remember being completely overwhelmed at how amazing our support was. Even though we were 3-0 down before it, I can just remember the whole Newcastle end going absolutely mental when Shola scored. Think I just enjoyed the occasion being young and it being my first away game.

sorry, i just assumed from your post that you meant it for the football manager 11 thread.

Shola's here to stay man; couple more years playing, testimonial, take over from Pardew before eventually returning to buy the club with a Nigerian consortium.

Probably watching Alkmaar away on the TV, especially us having one disallowed in the closing minutes (don't even think it warranted being disallowed, can't remember exactly why it was). Think it felt worse than the relegation because you felt for months that the relegation was coming and you were prepared for the worst.

No more of Andy Gray's made up conversations between footballers.

The majority of Nolan's goals have come from CM when we've played 4-4-2. Are you sure? I seem to remember him scoring typically with a single striker. I do remember him scoring in the 442 recently but that was off a rebound, just outside of the penalty box. With a single striker (typically carroll) he plays more forward, in front of goal. Playing behind the striker he's scored 3, 2 from open play. Villa (2), Stoke (pen) CM in a 4-4-2 he's got 7, all from open play. West Ham, Mackems (3), Liverpool, West Ham, Mackems.

Again I'd go for Gallowgate, my old season ticket was in the corner of the Gallowgate next to the Milburn so, whenever I buy tickets now I always just go for there.

Ryan Giggs would probably disagree.

We can't sell Shola now, not until he's had a proper testimonial.

Journal running with Ireland story as well now: http://www.journallive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2011/01/24/alan-pardew-hoping-to-land-stephen-ireland-61634-28042155/

I think that's a bit narrow. Ben Arfa is likely to drift inside, as is Barton, which means that Simpson and Enrique will have to operate as flanks as well. We could always go: Barton Tiote Jonas Ireland BenArfa Carroll would be harsh to drop Nolan though. Also that midfield 4 is what we're currently playing now anyway and it's doing fine.
-
Barton Nolan Tiote Jonas Ireland Carroll Until Hatem's back when he'd slot in, in place of Jonas.
-
I think Barton rekindling his form this season is example enough of why he's worth a punt, especially on loan!

Europe: would you take, er, 5th place right now?

Your avatar is fantastic. Just seen that. Risk of sending this thread off topic but yeah, that avatar is f***ing immense I don't get it, and I used to watch that series. Jay-Z? 99 Problems? Ah, I'm not much into hip hop. Nah neither am I, Jay-Z got massive exposure over here a couple years ago though when he headlined Glasto and that was everywhere at the time. -
A week's a long time in this years table, nevermind a couple months. Remember this is nearly the same team that managed a winless run that lasted all winter last season. I'd say they're favourites atm but it's far from a forgone conclusion. I'd expect it to be very very close come May, the top 10-6 being separated by a couple of points or so.
