What good was that to us? I wouldn't say we were going down, but regardless of what he's done in the past and where we were in the table, we were in relegation form when he was sacked. And you could say exactly the same about our record with Keegan. 5 wins out of 19. The point is, there is far, far more evidence to suggest Allardyce would have kept us up than not. His record with Bolton, Blackburn and even us to some extent, points to a fairly strong conclusion. I normally agree with you Ron. But when it comes to that season, i was extremely worried. It took Keegan 10 games or wahtever to get a win because the players had no belief anymore! And the teams we lost to under that KK spell were better sides than us and who were chasing Europe. We finished 7 points above the drop and that run of 7 unbeaten games kept us up. When you look at SA's two wins out of October-December, my god we didn't deserve to beat Fulham and Birmingham. Just read nufc.com's match report from 3 years ago today! I can see your side of the argument but our players just weren't suited to SA's style of play and there was only one way we were going that season unfortunately

Very debateable that, we had just won twice in 12 games and the run of games after he was sacked would of made it even harder. And we had the easiest start to a season in however long. The football was terrible and the players were slowly losing morale. Look at clueless tactics against Liverpool in the 3-0 defeat to see where we were heading under Allardyce.

Never been any doubt about that. Danny's said which NUFC players have twitter and who have not on multiple occasions. Gotta make sure you're stalking the real deal like.

I agree. Wasn't there supposed to be a Shearer/mIlburn statue being built?

If Milner is worth that you have to think Carroll is worth 40 million!

No? When I came out the turnstile (opposite LFC exit) I saw a group of our fans waiting and shouting abuse at the passing LFC fans just next to where the players drive in. Then all of a sudden I turn round and there is about 50 people charging down the underground bit and there is people on the floor scrapping causing the police horses to go mental. It later broke out on to the main road outside with LFC fans constantly charging and chasing our lot down towards the turn off to Shearer's bar. Eventually the police managed to split the road with LFC one side and NUFC other. My brother was in the away end and was near the front when it first kicked off - think he had a video of it. Anyhow they were chucking cans and snow at the police resulting in a stand off between them with batons ready. I have been to a fair few away games and never seen that. There was also apparently trouble at half time with coins and cans being thrown into the LFC section. Apparently the LFC fans were rattled by some anti Liverpool chants involving notes being waved in the air. Yeah there was a big scuffle during the game in the LC. I nearly got hit in the head by a coin. The usual chants were sang and generally in good humour, but the LFC fans didn't seem to show up and were really poor and boring and got wound up easily which wasn't at all like them.
