Yes As much as I love the bloke he never gets anything right. Good news for the food bank though

Fast forward 3 days...

what did you get? I’ve driven past that shop, god knows how many times and I’ve never been in. Is it good? Everyone seems to rave about it.

Gabriel Obertain starting over Ben Arfa most weeks. Fans agreeing with this decision

Deciding to double it again a few months later to £40m for a bloke who’s scored 1 league goal against the wishes of Rafa. Steve Bruce saying it’s his signing.

I rang up a few months ago to try and sort one for the lads for a day out. It was too expensive for us though. The figure I was quoted for a one off game was £350pp +VAT. There are 8, 10 and 12 seat boxes. I think they’ve got 6 or 7 not paid up for the season. So about 80k GBP for a season for 10 people.... Yikes!! 4200GBP per match inc the VAT. What does having a box actually entail? Is the food/drink included? I'd be fairly tempted if so, and if I couldn't get one in a 'normal' area. Not sure my son would enjoy it as much like. Also, Platinum Club, how much are season tickets in there does anyone know? You get a 3 course meal. I’ve no idea if drinks are included - I think it gets totalled to your bill at the end of the match? I’ve only been in a box once. It’s great for a one off, but I don’t think I could do it every week. I’d miss the atmosphere too much. You definitely can’t let yourself ‘go’ as much in regards to singing or swearing!

Bear in mind that was for a Tier 1 game - I think it was Man Utd - so I don’t think it’ll be as high as that when you take into account the whole season. Still expensive though!

I hope there’s stories aplenty that comes out from staff/accounting figures so the world knows what we have put up with for over a decade.

I bet he wishes he took that £100k now

I'd argue it was more annoying for those that left, that 10,000 people got a free ST Hopefully, once this all calms down we can be United again

Just looking at this again and wondering how much more scope for ground improvement there could have been if only Grainger had built Leazes Terrace where the fuckin tennis courts are. Built in the 1830s. Football started at SJP in 1880. We should have picked somewhere away from it I wasn't being, like, entirely serious Either was I

That's a really good idea! Most of our fans love that combo, it's become almost iconic. The 3rd kit could be used to do something diffrent. Btw, also love that blue one a few posts up. And was the original club colours (East End) I think. I wish we’d go back to home kits lasting two years as well.

What capacity would that be?

Nice! Make it happen. Wow

Newcastle is a very large UK City, we are at the centre of the 6th largest conurbation in the UK, with a population within the City Boundary of 300,000, which is large but is small compared to our 'real' population which is understated statistically because of the "weird" local authority boundaries we have had since 1974. All of (for example) London is "in London", whereas here, large parts of "obvious built-up Newcastle" are for administrative purposes managed within North Tyneside, South East Northumberland, and Gateshead, hence the "population stats" are unrepresentative of reality. I have sometimes heard this "Newcastle is a small City" statement (when it obviously isn't) in the past, and usually it is because people are actually only talking about the City Centre. Some people call the City Centre "Newcastle" to the seeming exclusion of the rest of Newcastle. We do have a very 'compact' City Centre, but that is only less than 5% of the City of Newcastle. Anyway, I agree, we must keep the ground in the City Centre !!! We need the boundaries to go back to pre 74 tbh. I hate the whole Tyne and Wear debacle.

How long does it take for a pitch to set?......or do they know there won’t be any home games in the next month. The pitch lights are all locked away under The Leazes. The pitch can’t survive without them due to the lack of natural light. They’ve clearly ripped up the pitch as they know it won’t be played on again for the foreseeable. The pitch survived for years before they got the pitch lights. They will just be doing it to maximise the time they can have for the pitch to bed in. There clearly isn’t going to be any games at SJP anytime soon. Even if the game in played behind closed doors and as a home game and not a neutral venue, it could quite possibly be played at the training ground. Pre 2000 they ere fine. Not since they built up the Milburn and Leazes though. Naa, we had one of the worst pitches in the league in Keegan's first stint as manager; he'd often complain about it hampering our passing style. Wasn't till we got the pitch lights that it improved. I meant that the pitch could get natural light before 2000. Since 2000, we had the new stands which reduced natural light for half of the pitch, hence the need for the pitch lights. And the fact they’re locked away, clealrh means no football will be played on them, as parts of the pitch die without the pitch lights. I get your point about the KK days though. The pitch never looked great. As a side note I can never believe how bad Anfield’s pitch looked in the 1996 4-3 defeat

If you eat into the Academy ground. They could potentially expand eastwards to East Benton Farm, but quite a few applications to build around there have been turned down IIRC. manorpark[/member] will know

Why? It’s a democratic group?

I still can’t believe they went through with it. NCC are fucking useless
