Wham loaned Faubert to Real Madrid. That one was quite the puzzler though. College Dropout is correct in pointing out Mbia, I think that can easily be excused because of QPR's relegation though.

ManU couldn't beat Burnley.

Wanna take a nap until Real Sociedad - Valencia starts. This game will help.

I really want him to manage a team that actually has a pot to p*ss on. At the very least he has the kind of philosophy and personality that would endear people to the club again.

Another convert!

Where else could he go, though? Spurs-Everton are to me the top English clubs he could aspire to manage right now, and he's already worked for one. I suppose he could go to the continent, but I can't see him getting a good gig in a top league, either.

Some shots of the "Come Home Ronaldo" airplane flying over El Madrigal yesterday. http://futbol.as.com/futbol/imagenes/2014/09/27/album/1411842854_779820_1411843038_album_grande.jpg http://futbol.as.com/futbol/imagenes/2014/09/27/album/1411842854_779820_1411843039_album_grande.jpg http://futbol.as.com/futbol/imagenes/2014/09/27/album/1411842854_779820_1411843040_album_grande.jpg I can't wrap my head around how incredibly sad this is

I have no idea, but it's pretty clear it's a conscious tactical decision now, rather than just a few games thing. If he accepts this role (and to be honest, he seems to be enjoying it), it's a better "use of resources" given the partners he has upfront. He'll still finish with 20+ goals himself.

Think I read it was around 40 more passes than Thiago who held the record. When you do the math it's quite mental. More than 1 pass every 30s. Wonder what's Xavi's record for us. Can't find it besides one game where he got to 183. We just letting s*** like this fly now then? Saved me from quoting it. Dirty Americans, polluting the English language. Aye, dirty yanks!

They have a chance. There's a bunch of crap teams (Elche, Levante, Getafe, Depor, Córdoba) who they can reasonably best. They do have a few loanees in there. Vilá, Del Moral, Navas...

Apparently Xabi Alonso beat today the Bundesliga records for completed passes (196) and times on ball (204). He managed more passes than the entire Köln team (142).

It's rubbish and he sounds like a robot. Like his Spanish. I think that's just him.

Guy in my avatar just won 0-2 against Levante.

Venables was brilliant at Barça... 30 years ago. I thought he was dead tbf.

Can't judge really, since I haven't seen enough of Ter Stegen. Bravo's pretty solid though.

Thought that photo reflected best the "passing of the torch" motif. I just love Shearer, anyway. Used to be one of my favorite players growing up.

Moyá was undroppable after his performance in the Supercopa. Simeone didn't start Oblak back then because he didn't want to risk him in a high-octane tie like that. It's a bit like us and Ter Stegen. Bravo started on goal because of Stegen's injury, and it's hard to drop him now.

He's clearly playing a lot deeper for what ever reason as shown by the fact he's created more chances than had shots Unlike Ronaldinho though it seems a conscious decision on his or the coaching staffs part, for what reason I really have no idea. He seems pretty happy with it, he certainly looks more involved and active than last season - or even the WC. People over here are speculating that Luís Enrique saw it as a way to shake up things for him and reignite his career. It's also a way to make the most of a Neymar-Messi-Suárez frontline too.
