Looks like Mou is lining up with a 3-4-3 again. He's been doing this quite a bit lately, was it a common feature at Inter?
-
Elías Mendes handed his first start for Atlético tonight. Curious to see him, the guy's already a legend for the Indians before kicking a ball. EDIT: I was wrong, his first game was against Mallorca this past weekend.

The miscarriage story is pretty solid evidence, imho. Mind, I do think there's still a good player in there and for a loan it'd be worthy to take a punt. Permanent transfer would be more iffy.

Yes. Backup player for them though. Doesn't look like Depor can't pay, they just don't want to (the contract termination wasn't friendly at all) and make a point of paying every installment on the last day it's possible.
-
Depor have been slapped with a transfer embargo for their withstanding debt with former player Sergio González.
-
Yeah I quite never got that, as if a miscarriage wouldn't have been valid grounds for being released.

You know who plays in that wing for us, do you? Excellent little player though, lucky club whoever gets him. Pretty sure FCB in this case stands for Fat Cockney b******. Ah, the magical world of acronyms

Pretty sure I read on Marca that somebody was selling a real notebook containing scouting information from José Mourinho in his Oporto days. Is it this? The one in that article looked pretty real.

I still see the odd bit of brilliance in the Argentine highlights, but the problem is that his physical attributes and graft were already poor back then, and now he's well past his 30s and playing in a physical league like the PL? Bad idea.
-
Fell out with Maradona though. Yea, well Maradona really messed up Argentinas WC chances with the squad that he picked. I mean, Jonas in at right back instead of Zanetti is just insane. Leaving out Cambiasso was a bit of a mistake as well imo. I'll leave it at that though before I start rambling way off topic Rambling's fun though. Riquelme would have been a proper playmaker instead of Verón, and Messi could've played more as a forward. Also... Demichelis... how that guy has carved an international reputation is beyond me.

Was brilliant for Villarreal too.
-
Riquelme playing in England at his current age would be tragic.

We just extended Thiago's contract a couple days ago, anyway.

Just checked and I was surprised to see it only holds 22,800 people. I'd have thought it was twice that given the atmospheres.

Konko is back at Geona for €6m. Good deal for Sevilla.

The main problem is the centre of midfield not being strong enough and putting pressure on the back four. That, and Warnock having been a nightmare for almost 12 months now. Against Man United, we started with Jonathon Hogg (who most VIlla fans had quite literally never heard of until this season) and Barry Bannan in the middle. About 3 starts between them. I see... looking at your squad the only midfielders I'd presume to have some bite going for them are NRC and maybe Petrov (does he still have legs?). Aren't you playing that boy Clark in the middle too?

Interesting that Villa are such a mess as a defensive unit, always thought O'Neill was rather good at keeping it tight.

I find Zonal Marking to be really hit and miss at times. I think they've fallen into the area where they can write a bad bit of analysis and people don't mind as its 'Zonalmarking'. Like that f***ing awful bit on Crouch being class. I understand. They tend to overanalyze things and look for a tactical explanation for stuff that sometimes is just form or having a good/bad day at the office, but there's a lot of good to be had.

yeah, I'm addicted to zonalmarking.net and I'd love to know more good football blogs.

Marcelo has improved a lot defensively under Mou. I fear he'll turn him into a very good player.
