  1. And so he should be as well. Would have been quite emotional for him I'd imagine to see how his money had been spent as well as the time and effort put in by all the volunteers. Was a privilege to be a part of that yesterday (I was waving one of the huge flags) and very satisfying to see the photos and videos of it on the internet today as when you're amongst it you don't really appreciate how good it looks.
  2. I've always thought he doesn't get the credit he deserves and Lascelles gets most of the limelight but he was different class again today.
  3. Had 2 things to do today and done both of them brilliantly. He's class.
  4. No they wouldn't. We all want him gone regardless of the miracles Rafa is working.
  5. Class today mind although Diame was better.
  6. It is on sky They'll probably not even show it. Looking forward to being a part of it in the Gallowgate and if there's a flag in my vicinity I'll be waving it as always. Middle tier walkway by the entrances in the strawberry corner (where I believe you sit) there should be some big wavers mate. Heron's my name not just a forum I'd so just shout if you need a hand or owt. Love shouting LFEE or Kid Icarus No bother mate. I'll make sure to grab one!
  7. Could be wrong. But I don’t think you have a choice now. I think if you win the NL you must take promotion. Unlike before when you had to apply etc. Correct. Promotion is compulsory now.
  8. £25m Everton Sam Allardyce

  10. To put that into perspective it costs £13 to watch Blyth Spartans and £15 to watch Gateshead. They're royally screwed without the PL money to support them as they relied on it more than any other club.
  11. Tbh I think it's gone past that stage now. I think the few full paying mackems who still go along are just happy to see a few other people in the ground.
  12. Another opposition fan turns up, in peace of course, to blow smoke up their backsides. You couldn't make it up
  13. I'm no financial expect but I would have thought paying £400m for a business that will soon have an annual turnover of not far short of £200m (obviously I'm aware that costs are high) would be a pretty good buy and that's before you take into account the Worldwide exposure you get from owning a Premier League Football club.
  14. Apparently their supporters liaison officer tweeted last week that they'd sold 11k season tickets and someone on RTG has just added 5k on to that because it sounds better and now 16k is the figure Notice they've got a thread on there about the Wolves fans being crap yesterday whilst piping themselves off all season despite having the most empty seats of any club in English football and regularly only taking 3 figure away followings with them. A special breed indeed.
  15. Apparently the linesman who gave the penalty against us yesterday was the same linesman who awarded a penalty against us v Crystal Palace earlier in the season. Both dodgy decisons as well.

I'm watching this and you literally never ever see a penalty given in those circumstances. Yes, no need to slide but that's not a pen.
  17. People getting themselves worked up over the thread title man
  18. Signing players who are already injured involve extra risk.
  19. A win just about guarantees a top half finish which would be a very good first season back in the big time especially considering we were briefly in the relegation zone as recently as mid February. They're in an awful run of form and we've gone off the boil lately so it's not going to be a classic. Think it'll be 1-0 either way.
  20. We did get relegated tbf. Not many teams go down and spend money. Our income probably halved in the championship. I thought we ended up around £40m up in transfer dealings for the summer we got relegated? We did, still not enough to cover the short-fall of getting relegated. We did have to get a loan of Mike Ashley for £30m to help cover costs for the 2nd half of the season. I wouldn't have thought many other clubs who get relegated would have the luxury of being able to sell almost £100m worth of players and then go on to play in front of 52000 sell out crowds all season. I'm surprised that he had to loan the club a further £30m to cover costs for half a season on top of that. Not sure how Villa have survived 2 years in the Championship with similar costs and far lower revenue. Loans from their owner, like us. They also have fuck all to spend now. It just doesn't ring true to me. We were supposed to cash rich after making large profits in the previous years leading up to relegation so where did all that money disappear to? Let's just say when it comes to Mike Ashley I'm very sceptical. We spent £85m in the season we went down without recouping much. That was very much the exception to the rule if you look at the past Decade. I don't think there's many clubs with a smaller net spend than us over that period. Works out at £4m per season or thereabouts and well less the the clubs around us.
