  1. Yesterday probably brought back memories of 35,000 of us chanting "Jaap Stam, ugly man" at him at Wembley in the Cup Final back in 1999.
  2. I can see why he did it. We just needed to win today and get some points on the board. How we did it was irrelevant.
  3. Don't agree on those two, Mbemba did ok and was certainly the best defender there, but he made a couple of silly mistakes that could have caused us real problems. Perez was chasing down the defence/keeper as much as Gayle and running in behind. Unfortunately a lot of passes to him where lumped up in the air, he does look out of form, but I can't say he looked like he wasn't trying or out of his depth. Fair play everyone sees what they see but I don't understand how you can say Perez was trying, he never pressed the game once and it was evident because he was only one not actually doing it, I don't rate him as such anyway but regardless I was shocked at how bad and disinterested he actually looked. Prime example was when Gayle was doubled up on right on the corner spot and Perez was standing about 20 yards away for the entire time he was battling and didn't make himself available, it was shocking and wasn't the only instance of this. Gayle is as small if not smaller and goes up for absolutely every ball, Perez barely makes an effort and his feet rarely leave the ground, it might be cliche but the championship will be completely out of his depth if he doesn't learn to get stuck in to the game. Perez will be dropped, rightfully so, once Mitrovic is back.
  4. What insult got you blocked ? Tagged him in that tweet and he blocked me an hour later.
  5. If we get promoted chances are we won't play them next season.
  6. 550. They've always had a terrible away following.
  7. Can I suggest a Tena Lady? Just being realistic. Problem with so many on here is that Rafa can do no wrong. Yet he is failing miserably in many aspects of his role. 1: Recruitment has been dog s***, with us still not addressing key positions, 2: Performances absolutely horrendous. Being realistic is not allowed. Or maybe the vast majority are sensible minded people and believe that, in time, one of the world's best managers will turn this basket case of a club around. Before Fulham we were unbeaten in ages, no need to get hysterical over a couple of defeats Did you expect us to lose to both Fulham and Huddersfield before the start of the season? Also in the manner that we lost both games? No. I also didn't expect us to go 6 unbeaten at the back end of last season either. That's the beauty of football. If it always went the way you expected there would be no point. Just relax, safe in the knowledge he will get it right.

  9. It's just laughable after the s**** we've endured that people can get so dismissive of the best we've had/can ever hope for. Rafa is definitely due criticism...but nothing more. Exactly! After all these years of watching absolute rubbush, throwing cup games, going months without a win under Pardew, John Carver reading out letters allegedly written by the club captain, Steve McClaren laughing after getting thumped 5-1 at Chelsea and so on, it's going to take more than a couple of defeats to dent my enthusiasm too much. The managers I've mentioned weren't capable of getting things right, they simply weren't good enough. We now have one of the world's best managers at the helm. We need to give him our trust and our time safe in the knowledge rhat he will get it right.
  10. Glorious Howld on a minute. Pardew is a great manager and the way we treat him was disgraceful. The Palace fans were telling us this a year ago.
  11. This is where I am with him tbh. Give him a chance and see if we can get a run of games out of him. He would get a chance if he was ever fit, but he isn't.
  12. He's proven himself to be utter dogshit for us and I don't think he has featured at all under Rafa, apart from sitting on the bench a few times? Hasn't had a look in pre-season, has he? Not even sure he is fit or has been training the whole time? Remember when McClaren played him against Bournemouth as his final get out of jail card? He gave quite possibly the most inept centre forward display I think I've ever witnessed before being hauled off at half time. He'll never play for us again.
  13. Thing is there's cctv everywhere these days. Loads of cameras inside SJP as well. Surely these people shouldn't be too hard to identify right down to their seat number.
  14. Can't even work out what they're saying. Just looks like a load of nonces acting daft. Most of their songs are taken from us anyway; Blaydon Races......Roker Aces, Geordie Boot boys.....Sunderland boot boys etc. They're even talking about organising more flags at their matches after what we did on Saturday. We are their benchmark.
  15. Hold up, I was crucified for that same comment weeks ago. Don't know why. He's not going to play for us again, same as Tiote, so surely it's logical to listen to any sensible offers for them (anything over £3m for Tiote and £20m for Sissoko imo) to get them off the wage bill (they'll be on over 100k a week combined) and strengthen the team in the areas we need to with the cash. The current situation regarding the pair of them suits nobody.
  16. Isn't his position one of the weak areas of the team? Who would you suggest as a replacement? What would you class as "his position"?
  17. It's probably the best we've looked defensively for at least 5 years. Also Khazri, Defoe and Borini as a front 3 isn't too shabby either. Khazri and Borini are 1 in 4 forwards at best. A long injury or dip in form for Defoe and you wouldn't score the goals needed to stay up.
  18. I'd take £10m + Colback in all honesty. Gets us money in the bank, 2 big salaries off the payroll and Colback would never wear our colours again. Win win.
  19. He needs to realise that the likes of Crystal Palace is his level and forget all about Real Madrid and the like. We need to accept the first offer of circa £20m for him and invest it straight into the weak areas of the team.
  20. He's a young lad and needs a proper run in the team. He's showed flashes of brilliance on occasions but mainly through injury hasn't had a chance to get a proper run in the team. Perennial failures like Colback and Anita have had plenty of opportunities in the past, only fair Aarons gets a fair crack of the whip as well.
  21. Think they're a couple of quid cheaper than they were for Huddersfield so £23 for adults in the Leazes and Gallowgate obviously cheaper for concessions. Easiest way to find out is go on nufc.com and click on the online box office link on the right hand side of the page then on event details for Reading and you'll get a full price list.
  22. Should have followed him home and burgled him during the night. See how he likes it.
  23. we are getting caught up in semantics. He hasn't got up to speed with the challenge yet. We look setup to counter from what I've seen and the teams in division aren't interested in attacking us like that. We aren't set up to counter at all. That involves letting the opposition have the ball, sitting deep and hitting them in the break. We've had more possession than our opponents but we haven't got a clue what to do with it. Huddersfield played more counter attacking football yesterday.
