Thought the atmosphere was fine yesterday. Gallowgate made plenty of noise and on the 2 or 3 occasions when the entire stadium was up singing together it was very noisy. It was a very comfortable win which was never really in any doubt and the difference in class between the 2 sides was obvious which typically doesn't lend itself to an electric atmosphere. Couldn't hear the Brighton fans having a pop at our support but if they were, the irony of them (they were getting 7k crowds just a few years ago) mocking a near 50k crowd isn't lost on me.

Thought the Brighton fans were OK up until we went 1-0 then never really heard them again. Think they brought 1,800 fans with them which is a great effort considering they were only averaging 7,000 5 years ago. -

It's all down to the acoustics of the stadium. The Gallowgate is by far the noisiest area of the ground now and they way it's designed with the sloping roof means that the noise generated from there travels straight down onto the pitch which is exactly where you wanted to go. For this reason the away fans, up high in the opposite end shouldn't really be able to hear much from there. This is why a lot of opposition managers comment on our crowd being loud but most visiting fans think we're quiet. Regarding yesterday's flag display we got in at 4.55, I gave my password to the lad and got my flag. I'll do it for the next game as well but I'll be honest, waving one of those things for half an hour narve gives you arm ache. The email stated we needed to be inside the ground between 4.30-5.05 which I think might put a few people off. Noticed quite a few people around me who started packing their flags back up by 5.15. I think they should scrap the time window and if volunteers want to come in 10-15 mins before kick off, then this shouldn't be a problem. It was only 5-6 minutes before kick off when they turned the music off anyway. -
Considering Murphy has played 200 odd games at this level and Mitrovic has played 0 I would expect that to be the case.
-
Whether Riviere features or not he's still on the payroll as is Armstrong as things stand.
-
As I said, I think we still need another striker alongside Murphy, we're pretty short up top as we're seeing after a handfull of games. If he's signed as a starter then I agree it's horrific As things stand we now have Gayle, Mitrovic, Perez, Armstrong, Riviere and soon Murphy. We aren't signing any more strikers this window.
-
Wanted him away but now we don't have enough time to bring in a good replacement I'm not bothered what happens to him.

Can't believe people aren't allowed to criticise a proven poor player. Who says he will be third choice anyway, the rotation that Rafa favours suggests he will start a lot of games. Just because we are in the championship doesn't mean we need to accept low quality. How is he a proven poor player? We're in the Championship for a reason, he is a good player in the Championship (that league that we are in) some people need to wake up. He's certainly not the 1 in 2 striker you're making him out to be.
-
He's scored 61 goals in 195 appearances for Ipswich so where you get this 1 in 2 goals ratio from I'm not sure. He even flopped at Celtic and it takes a really awful type of striker not to be able to score goals for them against pub players.

We already have public enema number one in Colback. I've blocked his existence from my mind.

The last few years have been his prime Well if what I watched in his last game v Norwich is his prime I'd hate to see what he was like beforehand. Did someone not say he dominated in that game earlier? He certainly didn't in the game I watched. A 33 year old journeyman striker isn't what we need right now and nobody on here will convince me otherwise. What do you think we needed? Not him. I'd rather we just stuck with Gayle, Mitrovic, Perez and Armstrong then bring him in to clog up the wage bill further. I just don't rate him at all, never have. Put it this way, if the mackems were signing him we'd be laughing at them.

He's 33 now and wasn't even very good in his prime.

I suppose the fans always need a hate figure, a boo boy if you like, so if Sissoko does leave this lad could fit the bill.
-
Championship plodder. Not what we need.
-
Let's hope he rediscovers his Euro 2016 form for them.

Everyone will be shouting "Shoooooooot" at him every time he gets into the opposition half going by those ratings.

Racist fans Questionable morals (knowingly playing a paedophile) Ambition limited to just staying up Sunderland isn't a very nice place to live Fanbase more concerned with their local rivals than Sunderlands fortunes There's 5 good reasons without even having to think.

Defensive mackem first reply. Defensive Smoggie State of those seats though. And we think St James' Park is looking a bit worse for wear!
