  1. Might have started Mitrovic ahead of Wijnaldum and really gone at them but overall I'm happy enough with that team.
  2. When you think how much they've spent and look at that team they're fielding today it literally beggars belief.
  3. Why are Man Utd always sh*t on the odd occasion you want them to win?
  4. Doubt Spotland has the UEFA 4* status required.
  5. Certainly need to do something we hardly ever do away from home and that is score the first goal, preferably in the 1st half just to settle things down.
  6. But the Alan Pardew talk hasn't? One was an isolated incident, the other was a 5 year negative influence on the club. But the Villa talk only comes about when we're due to play them generally speaking. They don't get much of a mention otherwise. Most topics are done to death if truth be told.
  7. Stop being so negative, man. The absolute cheek of you calling Brummie boring when all you do is trot out the same line every single week about how badly we're gonna do. Tbf if you look at the league table I've been proven right more often than not and as I said the other day the hypocrisy on here is staggering considering how negative this forum is in general. There's very few players, managers or board members on here who escape criticism. Am I mixing you up with somebody else or do I remember rightly some hypocrisy regarding season tickets? Quite possibly. This board is rife with it.
  8. Never seen them as low as 7/4 to beat Chelsea mind. For some reason that's making me more nervous.
  9. For me the 6-0 was revenge for that. Whatever happens today they're down anyway. Nothing to lose for them, plenty for us.
  10. Exactly. 45,000 there in a 57,000 capacity stadium.
  11. Agree but fair given the capacity of the stadium. Which begs the question 'why that stadium?' Makes no sense But what if the Semi Finals had worked out differently and it had been a Villarreal v Shakhtar final? I doubt both clubs combined could have shifted 10,000 tickets so UEFA could have ended up with a half empty stadium for a showpiece final.
  12. Agree but fair given the capacity of the stadium.
  13. 20 goals is traditionally a target that the top strikers like to get and he never managed it. The likes of Lane and Vardy who don't have anywhere near the amount of PL seasons under their belts as he has have already done that. Just think that for a player who offered goals but not that much else it's a pretty poor return, injuries or not. Not a "great" in my opinion.
  14. UEFA have allocated them over 10,000 tickets though with the probability of more which isn't too bad. Obviously how Liverpool want to disperse the tickets is down to them.
  15. Imo the word "great" is thrown about too easily. When I think of "great" players who have graced the PL Michael Owens name doesn't exactly spring to mind. Also for a player who really only had pace and goals to his game unlike Henry or Shearer for example for him never to have managed 20 in any given season is a bit poor.
  16. Tbf a lot of those entitled to the contractual supporters allocation will be genuine Liverpool fans. Just because they've got a few quid so can afford to pay for seasonal hospitality instead of sitting in the Kop doesn't mean they aren't true supporters. Of course there'll be hangers on but you get that anywhere.
  17. Grow a goatee, it works wonders Bit late now. We kick off in 6 hours!
  18. Other than the obvious one was finished by his late 20's and the other is still banging then in well into his 30's. Don't even think Owen was a really good Premier League forward. Did he even manage a 20 goal season?
  19. Wish I shared your confidence. Ironically the last time I was really confident about NUFC winning a football match we drew 1-1 with Aston Villa.
  20. Should have shook him by the hand and thanked him for keeping us in the Premier League for 5 seasons and taking us to a UEFA Cup quarter final.
  21. Sure, a split of the fans down the half way line wouldn't work but I can't imagine the organisation would be any more difficult than any other club stadium. This is a european final we're speaking about. They'll just split Level 7 50/50 for the actual fans, the rest of the stadium will be sponsors and all that s**** Just read that this Europa final in Basel is in a 36,000 seat stadium, and Liverpool fans are getting 4,811 tickets They're getting 10,236 but apparently Sevilla are expected to return some of their allocation so there's the probability of them getting more.
  22. It's unlucky man. Far too superstitious for this negative talk, it's going to rub off, they will sense the vibes and play negatively, mark my words I can just imagine all the players being glued to Newcastle online en route to Birmingham and thinking that Wallsendmag has got us down to get beat again. Let's play sh*t and prove him right.
  23. Prepare to be slaughtered for going against the grain and not just nodding and agreeing with the majority.
