  1. I'm not so sure. How much money does he need? Surely if you're getting £125k a week then you go to £250k you can't suddenly think oh I can get that dream car I always wanted or that big posh house, or we can shoot off to the Carribean next summer. Everything he wanted was already comfortably in his reach. He wanted for nothing financially. And his next contract here had he wanted to stay would have pretty much doubled what he was on. I could understand him wanting to move for sporting reasons more. Liverpool are a bigger club. They are serial trophy winners. He has more chance of realising his sporting dreams with them than he has us. That's just the reality. I've no problem with that and for those reasons I would have had no problem at all with him declaring his interest in speaking to them when their interest became apparent. Players move from club to club. That's football. The issue was the way he went about it. We gave him his back chance in England on the back of a pretty poor season at Sociedad when let's face it we hardly had any competition for his signature. We gave him the platform and gave him everything he needed to be arguably the most sought after striker in World football and look at how he repaid us. Went on strike and bad mouthed the bloke that gave him everything. Basically called him a liar just to try to justify his own disgusting actions. He's clearly a cunt of a human being, that much is evident. Makes it even more sweeter that him and his new team look absolutely shite since he signed for them whilst his replacement is banging them in, looks absolute quality and a top bloke as well. Hopefully once Wissa is fit he hits the ground running like big Nick has whilst the rat continues to flounder. That's the perfect scenario now.
  2. I got a Cup Final ticket last season through my membership and when I went on the site to choose my seat there were still quite a few available so plenty of us members managed to get Cup Final tickets. I still say if you really, really want to get in you more than likely will. It requires some serious effort, bizarrely there's a few tickets regularly seem to pop up in the early hours of the morning for example so sometimes going on the site at those times works. Since the ballots started up there's only been 1 match that I've been unable to source a ticket for (Liverpool this season) and had to resort to a 3rd party selling site to get in.
  3. Went to watch Berwick v Nairn County in the Scottish FA Cup the weekend before last. Nairn are in the Highland league, around mid table I believe, and I thought they were really poor so don't expect much in the way of a good standard! They were still far too good for Berwick mind
  4. 3-4 now! Blyth had a man sent off on 53 mins. Blyth hit the post in injury time!
  5. Don't even think the MOTM was announced over the tannoy. Definitely not during the match.
  6. I noticed that. Put it straight out for a throw in by the East Stand. I was in the NE Corner and everyone around was up applauding him. You're right if Longstaff did that there'd have been absolute hell on reminiscent of when Scott Parker Al had a full on argument with the East Stand inhabitants
  7. No there wasn't. Tbf he played what 60 or 70 games for us in the early 60s and I'm not demanding a minuted silence for every single ex player who passes away but Willie McFaul played almost 300 times for us, managed us and was one of our 1969 Fairs Cup Legends. He deserved more than black armbands.
  8. Him and Thiaw as a centre half pairing is just ridiculously good.
  9. Love him. Scores goals and his all round play is just incredible. Scary thing is that I think he'll get even better.
  10. Tbf you can only comment on what you're actually watching. He was shite today. No point in trying to dress it up.
  11. Was shite today. That's about as much as we can say.
  12. Really annoyed we didn't recognise Willie McFauls passing with a minutes silence today considering his connection and achievements with the club as a player and manager. He was a club legend. With all due respect we had a minutes silence for Diego Jota and whilst that was tragic he had no connection whatsoever to Newcastle United. Willie McFaul played nearly 300 times for us, including playing an absolute blinder at Ujpest Doza and also managed us after that. He even lived in the area in area in his later years such was his connection to Newcastle Upon Tyne.
  13. Aye there has to be. We've had minutes silences in the past for players who had no connection to us so for a player who played 290 times for us, including the Fairs Cup Final, and then went on to manage us, so he's a club legend basically, a minutes silence should be the vey least tribute he's given.
  14. Just seen something on Twitter saying Willie McFaul has died. Hopefully not true 🙏
  15. It's bizarre stuff it really is. I just cant see the problem. If you were clogging up the matchday thread or the Tonali thread with anti mackem sentiment I could see his point but this is the "Sunderland" thread on a NUFC forum. It's hardly going to be sweetness and light. Actually it's very tame if truth be told. And aside from that there's always the option of not clicking on a subject topic if it doesn't interest you or blocking a specific poster if they upset you so much. Constantly complaining is just a bit weird and actually only serves to take a thread off topic. Anyway the mackem cunts are still 2-0 down.
  16. Seriously though why even let something like that bother you, and if it does bother you so much, just press ignore ffs
  17. They were 5/1 on Paddy Power yesterday!
  18. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1B6oUnaZov/ Interesting at 3.45 Sir John Halls mentions ballots a away of allocating tickets.
  19. Just managed to bag a ticket for this after about 2 mins of pressing F5. Same as against Wolves. Leazes East Corner. Think this is where you get the real benefit of membership. Other than for all but the biggest games, if you miss out in the ballot it's pretty easy to get a ticket. There was actually 4 available together in the Leazes East Corner.
  20. Watched Leverkusen yesterday. They struggled against a PSV team that is absolutely ravished with injuries. We can definitely go there and win that one.
  21. Just bring this lad on for the last half hour of every game.
  22. There was a fair few on there calling for his head after they lost to Burnley the other week
  23. Got to say I've been to most of the big German grounds and even on the terracing behind the goal there's only a relatively small % of them actually join in with the songs regularly. The rest of the ground pretty much sits in silence as more of an audience as well. Dortmund as the example. The South Terrace, aka the yellow wall, has a capacity of 25k yet there's only the fans in the centre and towards the front that really join in with the chants, maybe 5/6k. The rest are more reactive to the game, like we are in England. Been to other grounds with big terraces behind the goals, Schalke, Frankfurt, Koln, Monchengladbach and found it the same at those places.
  24. Aye it's ranked 8th strongest league in Europe (Dutch 6th). I watched their game against PSV and they were very, very good. They're already well clear at the top of the Belgian league as well. Hopefully we can start on the front foot for a change, put them under a bit of pressure and see what they're made of.
