For me he had a "chance " of saving us, as no doubt did you,;we in truth thought he would. I admit the mind set of the club seems to have changed with his introduction but ultimately results will like every manager around these days decide if he is successful. Rafa seems to be beyond any dissent..why? Because it's taken us years to finally sign a proper manager so we don't want rid of him after two games into the season. It's not fucking rocket science. Rafa Benitez wasn't the reason we were relegated or a significant which is what you seem to be asserting and which people have issue with. He's had 2 games this season where everyone, including you shinty, is asking questions of the preparations for this season. For me the majority of our problems have been because we're threadbare in the middle tbh in recent years. It seems shelvey can't be relied on and I hope that Diame can contribute though I know very little of him (irrelevant I suppose). Once again we're starting off lacking - I think mitro will make a big difference and provide more support but our midfield as it is will just crumble and make nothing for him if not addressed.

Our last side had a point to prove, as everyone wanted to take the piss. Nolan, Carroll, Smith etc created an ethic & fighting spirit. We never looked back. Im struggling with the concept we dont have the players when half of these did alright at prem level. People are slating Anita who helped us draw with Man city a few months ago. They struggled to score past us with the same defence bar Janmaat? Surely its more mental than physical or are we genuinely saying Huddersfields players have more ability than ours currently? I'm not convinced about the quality of our players tbh. Some of them have big reputations but disappear up their own arse when given the shirt. Shelvey being a case in point. Can't be relied on whatsoever. Gutless and first head to drop.
