  1. This short term, black and white (heh) thinking is part of the problem; trying to apportion the blame to one party and simplifying things at board level to roles that a inextricably linked and have differing levels of influence. Everything is always on a one season basis without the foresight of the timing of the spending and the extent at to which it will continue in future seasons. If this happened in a school or a hospital, those in charge of the culture or spend would gone in a shot, but in football it's somehow different because the timings in which they are active are so fragmented. Just think ffs.
  2. If people had left in their droves by now then I doubt he'd still own the club personally. "How businessmen work" is cutting their losses before the s*** really hits the fan and their asset is essentially worthless. The fact that half a billion people won't see his advertising every week anymore will be more significant to him than anything else right now. But it wasn't significant to him last time we went down (although I can't remember if the stadium was plastered with all that stuff last time). Of course it was, we spent one season down there. But it wasn't significant enough for him to consider selling, is what I mean. He said that he'd put the club on the market. Months into the season it was clear that we had a very good chance of getting promoted and all talk of that went quiet. The free advertising he gets to project to such a huge audience is his main reason for owning the club, no question. And he has already said this time that we're stuck with him even if we get relegated. The guy is a twice proven liar. It means fuck all. They thought we'd get out of this and so that bluster will no doubt change.
  3. As long as charnley is still present there will be no change because it's not an admission of failure. Why turn to keith bishop? The issue for me is not with Benitez, he may well stay but so will their bullshit methods and he'll leave. There'll be no building or restructure.
  4. Well he didn't sack Pardew for starters.
  5. Not a chance they'll give him full control. Getting him was their compromise.
  6. If they do want him it 100% won't be on terms he would want. Not the way these twats work. The pull the rug from anybody.
  7. That .com thing has it spot on the Rafa situation
  8. I'll believe this shitstorm when I see it.
  9. Wish I had an open wound for someone to piss in. My take my mind off things.
  10. The only people who think they are better fans are the ones who bleat about having gone home and away for 200 years and how many games do you go to? Type craic. I don't particularly agree with the sheeple shit but fuck me how much shit are people prepared to swallow? I don't see how you let this go by if you claim to love the club so much. Wearing your shirt is just less hassle isn't it? Apathy reigns supreme.
  11. After all I make exceedingly good cakes.
  12. Yeah it was all the lack of communication that relegated us. Scrutinise the front of a speeding train with your stupid little dr Bunsen heed.
  13. Absolutely. Keep the faithers.

  15. Thank fuck. The weekend would have been unbearable.
  16. He was fucking crap and still is but he never had that money to spend.
  17. We're not winning this like. Typical Newcastle and all that but the reality we're just shit as fuck.
  18. It's not the pull that's the problem it's how often it breaks down afterward.
  19. Relies on premier league then. Great. You are telling me there is 50% chance we stay up? No
  20. Relies on premier league then. Great.
  21. if there's ever been a moment where ashley has an epiphany it should be this, there's literally no better option than them offering benitez a blank cheque and saying "please run the football club for us, we have no idea how to do it, little mike will do whatever you tell him" He's not capable of epiphany or contrition and if Rafa does stay it'll just end badly. That's not to say I don't want him to its just I'm of the mentality that unless there's wholesale change I can't be excited about literally anything NUFC
  22. Mike Ashley will never admit a mistake and will never u-turn on a policy he's been forcing to implement over ten years. Just like the 80m. Rafa was a desperate dice roll to be a quick fix and then worry about it later. How many people have joined this club and been lied to? Say what you like but McClaren wasn't given the right additions the squad needed which exacerbated his shitness; he was supposed to have input on recruitment but I heavily doubt he had much say at all. No way will Ashley u-turn and give full control and even if he does it won't be for long. Do you really think that if he stays we're in for an era of potential success? There is no dream to buy into, no noble aim. Everybody ever involved in this club gets the rug pulled from under them and besmirched unless they toe the line and play sycophant to the letter. that isn't very hopeful but just having Benitez just leaves the same problems present.
